Remember when Console people used to call reload cancelling cheating...until they figured out how to do it on their boxes?

This was a post by Christina Norman back before ME3 came out about the inclusion of RCing as an advanced feature on ME3. They wanted to streamline RCing to make it as easy on console as it was on PC

That was actually Norman talking about the reload canceling in ME2, which was done with melee.

True but that doesn't change much, does it? The only difference now with medigel RC is that I don't have to light melee after a claymore shot :)

It actually does.

In ME2 anyone on any platform could easily reload cancel with melee in SP.  It was pretty simple when you got the hang of it and turned the Claymore from a mediocre weapon to one of the best in the game.

ME3 did not intentionally include anything like that.  In SP you can only medigel cancel if you have full health (or more accurately when the game thinks you and your party have full health, which would be fine if not for a glitch), or if you have empty grenades.  Otherwise you can power reload or dodge or go in and out of cover, which is much more annoying than light melee.

In MP, the devs stated that using the medigel function while alive was an unintended feature, but they decided not to take it out.  This is completely the opposite of the melee reload in ME2, which they stated they included on purpose.

For full disclosure, I use medigel reload canceling all the time in MP.

It's not cheating, it's just a huge fault in the game that dv developers have been far too lazy to correct. Reload speed should be a viable aspect of a gun and your choice to use it. It isn't for some weapons.

This isn't true. It was INTENTIONALLY included. I call your attention to that bolded, capitalized word that would be in neon, blinking ****ing lights if I could do it.

That is what they say, ....because other games also had faulty game mechanics.  I don't believe them on this one.  If was intentional it was a horrible mistake.

My Stages of Stardusk on this Board:
1) I assume he is a grill since his avatar is grillish and once a month he makes these threads complaining about any and everything.
2) I assume he is actually Robert Downey Jr. because damn that sounds just like RD Jr in his videos.
3) I assume he is this ancient, old as balls grandfather flirting with the Grim Reaper because no one that is below forty acts this damn old? Right?

We all flirt with the Grim Reaper. It's just that most people choose to ignore it.

Not obsessing =/= Ignoring something

Well that is true but given how most human beings spend their time (including myself) it is indicative of creatures that tacitly presume they are immortal. We're far too petty when it comes to just about everything.

Why focus on something that is inevitable and natural? Enjoy the time you have- it's a much better proposition than thinking of the doom daily.

Birthdays always make me think of it, also parents getting old...so for them it's pretty near.

Hmm I'm about to turn 39. I just make sure to have some good champagne but I don't harbor negative feelings about getting older. The annivesary of my fathers death is coming up in a month. It happens- we die, our parents die, our children die. We all die. Very obvious fact but one that bears mentioning apparently. Try living carpe diem.

You still can RC with light melee in SP like it was possible in ME2, so it's still included. It's also possible to use grenade powers (especially when out of grenades) to mimic medigel RC in SP.

But my point was that either using light melee, side roll, powers or medigel it all cancels the reload animation and shortens the delay between shots. And this, as a genereal mechanic, was intentional.

I don't know if its cheating, but a truly badass sniper does not do it.
