Seriously, as a soldier I always took Garrus (Sniper rifle/tech) or Tali (tech) and Liara (Biotic).

But by far my fav has to be Wrex for sure, or maybe Henpecked Hou. Love drunken style lol

EDIT: Oh, and I really, really loved Enserric the Longsword!

Of the squad mates I liked all of them in ME1, Liara was definitely the favorite though.  Tali a close second.

Ashley and wrex were the deadliest combo of the game, I was a soldier too so basically ... yeah. Mowing down anything in your path is fun.

Tali and Liara were my favourites but I liked every ME1 companion... which is more than I can say for ME2!

I rather enjoyed the convos with Wrex though, but the the above... well, they seemed to be more deep than they have let know... at least to me.

But mostly Liara, Wrex, Ashely and Tali.
And if I've to pick one of them, it's Wrex.
