But that would have taken development time and resources away from the rest of the Citadel DLC, which is almost all excellent, so you'll forgive me if I'm not too bothered by the oversight.

However since the plot aspect of the Citadel DLC is very much on the fluff side i find it best just to get through it and enjoy all the good content afterwards.

To OP, yes it's pretty annoying that intervention couldn't be involved like the Miranda and Oriana incident where you shoot Oriana at her foot.

Or how about Thane's LM where you can do just that? "Hostages only work if people care whether they live or die."
*sigh.* Not the first failure. Not the last.

Yeah its pretty much the same for me. Plus the hilarious "I should go" thing that shep did later was just incredibly funny.

Garrus is a total nub in it, Tali and Ash are college party ****s, Miranda's a charisma vacuum, Samara get a sense of humor, Kasumi's personality and... everything disappears figuratively and literally, Jacob's even more awkward, Kaidan's a nerd, Wrex loses every ounce of edge he's had and is reduced to ..."Uncle Urdnot" (though that Randy Savage Elbow was still one of my favorite moments in the series). At first the fanservice was great, but it wears off extremely quickly to a point where I almost want to skip it now, just breezing through for the weapons and mods.

Arc Sniper would be so OP. And it would sneak under the radar too, just like the Arc Pistol.Nate_Assassin wrote...

It'd be glorious.

The Citadel DLC is part of the official canon however, whether or not the player considers it as such.
Still, I agree with JasonShepard. It would have taken development time and resources to create an alternative way for the scene to play out, and that isn't always going to be feasible. Resources unfortunately are finite.

I don't see how this is different from the base game (e.g. Sniper!shepard and Garrus taking ineffective pistol potshots to give away their position rather than, you know, shooting him their anti-materiel rifles).
I prefer the viper sniper rifle with a high velocity armor piercing barrel. with the ammo upgrades from glyph, I get 54 shots, 6 rounds @ fairly rapid rate of fire, and it takes down armored targets fairly fast (with the hv barrel).
as for the dlc's plot, I had brooks pegged the moment I saw her (on my first playthrough). I knew using the spectre code on the door to the walkway was a mistake, I also knew transmitting shepard's command codes to the normandy while communications were compromised was an even bigger mistake. etc., etc., etc.
I do find it hard to ignore these things when i'm playing.

@ mcfly
I think he's referring to the cat6 mercs. though I would say most were n2-4 commandos if they even managed to get that far.

When Kolyat did this I killed Jorum Talid. When Vasir did this I insulted Asari which distracted her long enough for Liara to hit her with a table. If that didn't work I'd wound the hostage. The same goes for Oriana. I'd never lower my weapon.

A fact I try to avoid. Don't get me wrong I like the DLC, but it's too silly for me to take seriously.

I thought lang was a former n7 operative (like Anderson & shepard), though I guess that means at some point he had an n6 rating?

I thought they were "Category 6" which was the name for Alliance soldiers who were dishonorably discharged.
