Meer sucked as Shepard, except in ME3.

Sheploo also sucks, he looks like a deformed monkey that came out wrong.

As for this garbage.

I completely agree with the OP. I can never ever get into a game if the main character is a woman. Just too much of a disconnect. There have been a few games over the years that looked kind of cool that I passed over (like the new Tomb Raider game for instance) because I knew that I would never be able to get into the character and so wouldn't enjoy the game.

Grow up.

I don't even like Hale more in ME1 where Meer was supposedly at his worst

And LoU, and Metroid, which dwarfs Tomb Raider.

Some people like voice actors that treat every situation in the game like an apocalypse is imminent. Nothing wrong with that, either.

That list was just off the top of my head, the point is that there is hardly a dearth of games with female protagonists

Well if Other M is a indication, female PCs no matter their age can also be ruined to appeal to horny teens much easier then the generic white male hero.

Lol wut? There isn't a lick of difference between femshep and maleshep beyond cosmetics and some crappy romances.

Your LARP =/= What's in the game.

Maybe I am getting old (34 is old?) but I have no idea what LARP is.
The difference is the fact that you are a female character in a powerful role as opposed to a male. It's all the difference i the world.

Not really, from a gameplay or story perspective. Shepard functions as a pallete swap character between both genders. And it's not like that's breaking new ground. Female protagonists have been in powerful roles.

Yes I understand that there is no difference from a gameplay perspective; it just feels different. It's hard to explain, I think it is in part dut to hale's voice acting which make the character feel real.

There are plenty of female protagonist with much better voice acting than FemShep.

Her voice acting does start to decline by the time of ME2, whereas it's just full on Clint Eastwood by ME3. Hale's performance in ME1 was exceptional though.

Speaking of TOR.

Should I try the free-version of the game? Is it any good?

Well, it's mixed since all 8 classes are all different stories in the game.

My recomendations are to get it free and try it out, and if you can't stand the mmo playstyle and restricted customization options (you gotta pay to use more then 2 races in each class) then it's fun to check out.

Personal recomendations are the Sith Inquisistor, Imperial Agent, Solider, and Smuggler.

Jedi paths are both kinda lame and not well done, so do them at your own risk.
