Can't remember the last time I worried what someone brought to a gold match. Might just be Alzheimer's though since I can hardly remember what I had for dinner tonight.

Also, sometimes those low N7 no CP players are alt accounts. I've been quite pleasantly surprised.

Am yet to see any of them that I've played with perform well.

Well, I've also had my misgivings borne out.

When I get newbies in my lobby, I give them a chance to put equipment on and then start the match.

If they end up doing extremely ridiculous stuff (assault rifle amp with an SMG, not helping with objectives, being N7 level 1 on a platinum, etc) I might turn on the mic and let them know, but if they still want to play, that's fine by me.

Course, sometimes when I turn on the mic and try to give someone advice, I get some priceless responses. Like the guy playing a kroguard in a gold vs Geth match refusing to use biotic charge because "that's how the pyros get you".

Are you serious?!?!  "that's how the pyros get you"?!?!? This is so funny.LOL!
My mic is broken so I can't help. I have tried sending quick messages but they get ignored. LOL! (still laughing at that comment).

LMAO!!! WTF!! so that random actually wanted to play gold with no equip!?!?!

Did he just skip the consumable equiment or did he also have no reusable (gear) equipment?  I find that gold is easy enough that as long as I'm playing a build I'm comfortable/experienced with I don't have a problem with just using the reusable equipment.

^This

You are not alone I do that quite often as  well but only for high level characters with builds that are easy to rock.

Well, clothes are there for a reason. Anyone can of course chose to go out with no clothes but then that person must be ready to deal with the attention.

I said this over a year ago, but the big thing about putting consumables on in a Gold match:

I believe that its a good predictor of this:

(1) the guy is less likely to quit the match if he gets killed and not revived.
(2) he is also more likely to use rockets and gels at the appropriate time.

If the guy does not have consumables on, there might be a good chance that he is too cheap to buy jumbo equipment packs to get rockets and gel :)

That is why I don't play with people that don't use consumables on gold. Every now and again I will go ahead because I am tired of waiting, but more that likely the guy will only score 18K, or will quit on wave five.

So I decided that anytime I get a random in my in my public lobby with no CP and no equipment. I'll just change the difficulty to silver and switch to a low level character(I just promoted). I made that decision when I started playing earlier and 2 no CP randoms joined my lobby which I had to quit because I was in no mood for carrying and they usually leave by wave 8 anyway.
I just set up a game now and I had this one random(no CP, low level gears, no equip) in my gold lobby. I tried to kick or at least make him/her put on equipment(some do when they see the kick sign), we had 2 kick votes but then everyone readied. So I switched to silver and to my surprise they all left. I was like LMAO!!! WTF!! so that random actually wanted to play gold with no equip!?!?! even for me it would be like a challenge playing gold with equip despite my high level gears.
I really can't phantom fathom what the h*** these noobs are thinking. When I started out ME3MP, I played bronze for so long til i was confident enough to play silver. Then I got into gold and got good at it, thanks to good folks of AHF. Then they introduced me to platinum(when they saw my manifest was good enough). Before this, the one time I stumbled on platinum I knew it wasn't for me even though we made extraction because of one very good player.
So what are these randoms thinking exactly?!?! Didn't nobody tell them you should start a game on the highest diffculty? Start from the lowest so you can understand the game then challenge yourself! seriously!!!

tl;dr: OP is bad at this game and complains about other people who are bad at this game.

Buy a backpack, learn to carry.

Unless your done with carrying the backpack... since ya know mine's stuffed w/ 20+ mil credits and a maxed manifest, full consumables and 100+ on all equips.  Why?

If you find yourself carrying said backpack over n over wave after wave, simply fly a kite for 45 mins and make them watch you fly it... Fly the kite till you had your fun then dump that backpack and run.
