Lol, Missile Glitching on PC is like cheating slowly!

I left around the time missile glitching was at its worst (late 2012)--people were using the Falcon and Striker mostly to do it. BW supposedly fixed it by making the missile a charged shot, but I guess there are other ways to glitch now? Since I've been back (last couple of weeks), I haven't seen it yet. Then again, I'm only playing gold so far--I would assume there's no point to glitch in gold when there's plat.

Actually now that I think about it, they shortened the charge time on the Cobra--but it seems from searching the old threads that you can still do it the same way even so. What a shame. I find it hard to believe MP has survived this long with missile glitching still rampant; it almost killed the game back in 2012. I guess it's because there's a plat difficulty level, which leaves gold pretty much untainted.

Who cares? I think most of us know what to look for and how to avoid missile glitchers by now. Give it a rest

Maybe it is just me being negative, but I think trying to sabotage them is a waste of time (though it would be amusing). I tried pugging Platinum last night for the first time ever. Had to leave 5 lobbies in a row because each one had a missile glitcher. Then I made my own lobby and had a glitcher join immediately. Kicked that person and finally some legit players joined. It is what it is.

I admire your goals however I honestly haven't seen a single glitcher whilst pugging Plat since I restarted playing a few months ago. I only pug half a dozen Plat games a week mind you - there's only so much punishment I can handle.

They're all over Xbox Plat lobbies. I'm frequently in lobbies with two other people looking for a fourth, and it's a long wait before we can stop kicking the glitchers.

That's the right way. Maybe the glitchers learn to do their own thing in their own private lobbies.

Droped into an ongoing platin match on hydra, where one guy was missile glichting while two others were hiding in the blind spot at the waterfall.

Wave 3 devices was the end, I trolled them by doing the devices and aborted just before finish. Then repeat..

One had a mic and was grumbling like hell, it was very amusing.

By the way I'm on PS3 and saw not so many glitchers, maybe every 50th game on platin

Just curious - how do you know a glitcher just from the lobby? Can't be just a Destroyer with a Stiker - I play that kit for fun now and then, and I never missle glitch.  Wouldn't know how anyway.

I played with a missile glitcher.  There is no stopping them. I was adamant against it but they eventually talked me into trying it. It was fun for the first few waves, then I got bored of waiting around while glitcher killed everything. I don't see the use in stopping them, I only get irritated by players who ragequit or order me around.

Ah....no. I only run with nothing in bronze. In silver/gold, I'm usually hosting, so I gear up because a lot of the time, I end up alone the whole mission. I might run silver with no comsumables if I join a lobby.

Ah....no. I only run with nothing in bronze. In silver/gold, I'm usually hosting, so I gear up because a lot of the time, I end up alone the whole mission. I might run silver with no comsumables if I join a lobby.

That's no problem; I don't put on gear on bronze or silver even when I'm helping friends farm waves for BotB or whatever they're trying to get. But a hallmark of the glitcher on Plat is the lack of equipment, the choice of character (Destroyer or Juggernaut), and the choice of weapon. It's possible we may get a few false positives, but we generally know what we're looking for when booting.

We might also kick because we finally got a fourth with a mic and we need the slot (I usually send an apology), or the fourth slot is a Jugg (annoying Hex shield, slow to help with objectives, usually can't kill fast enough), and if three of us are using grenades (dumb, I know, but it happens sometimes when we're tired or messing around), an N7 Destroyer in the fourth slot that doesn't plan on glitching may still be (regretfully) removed, since we won't want to compete for grenades.

Glitchers almost always look like glitchers if you play a lot of (Xbox) Platinum. Though I did complete my Striker points with the N7 Destroyer, so I try not to be too quick to judge. There are ways to be subtle about glitching, but in my experience, most glitchers are not getting kicked, so they aren't incentivized to be subtle; thus, it's easy for my group to notice them and kick away.

Me: AIU with Adrenaline 3.
Joined at end of wave 3, objective already complete. Took me until halfway through wave 4 to realize what was happening. Okay...here we go.

Wave 6, escort. I killed stuff on my own and didn't do the objective. They were mic'd but didn't seem to care that I was doing my own thing.

Wave 10, pizzas...sweet! Between Adrenaline 3 and the speed boost on DM, there was no way in hell I was going to get beat to the pizza. Grabbed the first one, took a meandering path toward the LZ, then looped back up the stairs to make another lap. The mic chatter was fantastic! At first they thought I just didn't know what I was doing and were trying to talk me though it, but it became a bit obvious when I passed by the LZ the second time. With 30 seconds left, I walked into a swarm of Banshees, Primes, and Phantoms and let myself die knowing there was no way in hell they could deliver the TWO pizzas in that time.

I find the AIU is quite good for this. 5 minutes is a long time to hold a pizza. DM gives you a speed boost, restores shields, and grants DR. Pretty much everything you can possibly ask for on an extended pizza run.

No IMs, unfortunately, though I did snap a crappy cell phone pic of the Mission Failed screen, which I will try to post shortly.

EDIT:

I almost managed 100K despite the glitcher getting almost 600K.  I at least tried to kill stuff.

No missile glitchers on PC, we only have Wave 11 spawn nukers.

Have only had one glitcher in my lobby once. So, it's just that rare on pc. Maybe, pc glitchers set up more private lobbies? As long as they do that, I don't really mind.

Only started playing this game again recently and wow I can't believe missile glitchers are still up to their filthy scrubtactics. Haven't encountered one yet but that flamer spam sounds hilarious. Kind of want to find a glitcher now.

I came across some cheat on PC. I didn't see missles, but the cheat was playing a fury that would just hover in the air and move without animation and things would die. The cheat ended up with a 600k+ score.
