Fun head cannon, but Kaiser is right. Too many witnesses to Hawke's actual presence to count. Plus, Cassandra dragged Varric to Hawke's estate. S/he is quite real and out there, somewhere.

I still think that Hawke and the Warden know what's going on and have disappeared willingly. I think Inquisition will get into that. For now, we just have to sit and wait.

They both found closure and retired. Leiliana likes to troll the public by "searching for the warden" every couple of months 'cos she's just a crazy girl that way. Then she and the warden laugh about the crazy conspiracy theories she's heard while they have sexy time.

My Warden went through the Eluvian and is now busy being a daddy taking care of his kid while Morrigan takes on the duty to try to save the world.

My Hawke who romanced Meriill ran off with her to live in peace and quiet.

Both my Warden & Hawke are mages. & they both ended up having LIs who are mages.

Personally, my Warden & Hawke got tired of saving-the-world shenanigans and decided to chill, relax and enjoy their lives.

According to my headcanon: My warden got sick of all the responsibility and is on vacation with Zevran. Exploring forests, ruins, underwater temples and the deep roads... They just haven't gotten around to going back to yet.

Hawke is hiding from all the people who want her dead or imprisoned. Probably in a cabin deep in some old forest with Fenris...

My Warden went through the eluvian so I don't care where he is, as for Hawke well he's with Isabela. Problem solved.

The Champion was obviously real, since Cassandra can't stop talking about him/her.  Who was the Champion then?
Or was the "Champion" just an amalgam of a few different people, with "Hawke" just being a code name:alien:

That's exactly what I think.

I think it has nothing to do with the story, its just what heroes do, more fitting than and he opened a brewery. Or he started broker-estate business. Or he partied hard and Leliana left him...etc.. I too hope to know their fates, but i am almost sure their dissappearence is coincidential and not some plot or scheme which Flemeth or some1 else is doing.

The Warden and Hawke disappeared simply due to "space magic" theory, which is the only explanation needed for explaining plot holes, inconsistencies, and all non-sensical things. The fact that their status was mentioned is the best that we're gonna get (it's our token thanks for spending all of that cash on games and related dlc).

The Bronx Cheer accompanying this explanation is a bonus!

They disappeared because plot demands. Hawke is probably stomped to a mush by an ogre somewhere because Anders wasn't around to heal her due to murder knife.

My warden is practising blood magic at the Fereldan court, she's not missing.

Hopefully my Hawke is sailing with Isabela under an assumed name.
My warden was probably poisoned by his wife Anora and the fed to the dogs or else killed by his jealous mistress Leilana. Or maybe ran off to his calling.

Sounds like the calling would be a lucky break for him.

My guess is the Warden had his/her Calling. I don't know how much even the 'all-powerful' Seekers would know about Warden traditions (aren't they supposed to be super-secret?) It wouldn't surprise me to discover that they think they Warden's disappearance is somehow related to current events- it might even hurt Leliana to learn she was so far out of the loop.

As for Hawke, he/she is either dead, or in hiding somewhere, avoiding the limelight as much as possible. Forever on the run.

Thus discouraging further interest in their stories and moving on to the next. But seriously, I'm ready for a new protagonist. Hawke/Warden are done in my headcanon. Bring on the Inquisition!

And if she's back from the said mystical land, wouldn't it make sense for him to be back too.

Not if he died there.

That's a bummer, I suppose there wasn't any food in the 'other world'
and in an act of desperation, Morrigan ate him....

I really hope Morrigan shapeshifted first if that is the case.

Also, you don't have to performe the Dark Ritual, you can go through the Eluvian with her, if you romanced her, and didn't performing the Dark Ritual.

You're allowed to flat out deny her aswell, you don't have to let her perform the ritual at all :P

That's why I said this:

Ah, I did forget about option #3: Have Loghain/Alistair do the Ultimate Sacrifice and die defeating the archdemon. You have a point there.

Also, I find that argument to be invalid (no offense), it is out, it is a part of the game, it is made by Bioware, that indeed makes it cannon.

There is a difference between "player cannon" and what is actually going to be in the games.

Not to mention everything in DA:O, and DA:2 are leading up to Inquisition...

Um, what are you getting at here?  I know this, but choices are going to vary.  We'll know more about what choices are going to impact Inquisition once the Keep goes live (or the NDA expires.)

If you are comparing comics to the game, that's not really a fair comparison, because again, the game is your own shaped world, and the comics are where the direction the writers went in order to not conflict with player choices. The game itself is different for everyone, and therefor is unfair to compare to comics.

I'm not comparing things to the comics.  I am saying that until BioWare decides to do more with the OBG and the fallout from the Dark Ritual (or lack thereof), it's not going to affect the games.  For now, debating about the OBG is utterly pointless.

Oh and I'll repeat: The Warden vanishing with Morrigan only works if you are male, romanced her and played out the events of Witch Hunt.  Otherwise, the Warden vanished after the events of Awakening.  Not all Wardens followed Morrigan at all.  The writers would have to come up with a better reason than just "Oh, they ran off with Morrigan" in order to address all the other potential outcomes.

Why would they give you decisions that wouldn't impact the outcome of your Dragon Age universe? Bioware is better than that. To make a DLC completely void is unlike them. Even Golems of Amgarrak wasn't just thrown aside. Considering Orsino became a Harvester.

Well I imagine that since I sent my male Grey Warden through the Eluvian with Morrigan that he would be pretty indisposed of, as for Hawke he/she should probably go into hiding no matter who he/she sides with. Just saying you may or may have not pissed off a lot of Mages/Templars.

My Warden went through the Eluvian in 9:32, and then according to Alistair was back in Denerim by 9:37. Dunno where he went after that.

As for Hawke, I have no idea where he'd go because I've never understood his reasons for going or staying anywhere. Why would a Ferelden apostate stay in templar central rather than return to his homeland, where the monarchy supports independent mages and a free Circle? It boggles the mind.

My guess would be that one or both have been co-opted/kidnapped by Morrigan or Flemeth for use in their nefarious schemes.

They are Flemeth's sex slaves now. Or maybe just slaves. Or maybe just nice housecats.

My warden received a "gift" from Morrigan before disappearing - I suspect that is not a coincidence.

My Warden and Hawke are both stuck in a checkout line at a Wal-Mart with too few cashiers and no self-checkout machines, doomed to listen to elevator-like Christmas music for all eternity as the line never seemingly moves forward ...

My warden said she went travelling, so she after visiting Denerim she is either travelling or in Antiva to visit Zev. Leliana can't find her because, my warden killed her and thus have a very good reason to avoid her. (At least the last part is my head canon untill bioware overides it). Either way my warden is tired of saving the world and bitter about the whole calling thing and just want to enjoy her last few years.

My Hawke sided wiht the mages and ran away with Anders. Those two facts are good enough a reason as to why she is laying low and do not want to be found by Leliana. (Who my Hawke thinks of as the chantry's lackey). Wherever she is she is doing pro-mage stuff.

And my sarcastic Hawke was probably killed, too. By someone who doesn't get the concept of sarcasm.

My Warden had lots of steamy nights with Zevran while conquering back the Crows. People never heard about them afterwards. Hawke went on an adventure with Anders to rescue fleeing mages after the war broke out in the world. They're currently living away from the inquisition, while receiving letters from Varric who pretends he sends them to a Bianca. It's also possible the four of them met along the road and had some awesome foursome...

Yep, that was my headcanon. Back to reading fanfics it is!
