I've studied the wiki page for the Rescue the Queen mission and it seems that there are only two ways of getting the Captured! quest: to surrender - and let all the nice XP go to waste - or to commit harakiri after killing all enemies except one. There seems to be no way of accepting the fight while keeping a clean Health & Safety record.

For me the Ser Cauthrien encounter is always an important milestone in a campain, sort of a "proof of the pudding" moment. This is especially true this time around since I cannot bring any companions except maybe for Shale, to give everyone a chance to mount a rescue. Simply surrendering feels like chickening out of the toughest fight of the campaign, but I don't like the idea of suicide either.

Is there a way of having that particular cake and eating it?
