Alright so I'm looking at this wiki page that says what "rarity" each item, am I right to assume that Common is dropped from recruit packs, uncommon from veteran, and so on (of course I understand you have the chance to get get other rarities from these packs as well)?  I just was wanna try and get all the common stuff out of the way before I move onto less common stuff, cuz it would suck getting commons from a higher pack >_<

You've got the right idea. I would suggest along the way, every now and then you treat yourself to a SP or PSP just for the chance at something, but sticking to to the recruit > veteran > SP/PSP/RP pyramid is a good plan.

The best way I've found to do it is but recuit packs till you max your common weapns and characters, then move on ro veteran for your uncommons and then specter or PSPs for rare and UR. If you move on to vateran or better to soon you will get common weapons and characters instead of them being consumables and uncommom or rare weapons and characters. For mods and gear it seems you need to buy veteran packs or better to get max even the commons.  Also I've gotten more URs from specter packs than PSPs, since I maxed all of my rares PSPs have given me nothing buy level 4 consumables and I've gotten a bunch of URs from specter packs.

there is a small chance for uncommons to come out of recruit packs and rares to come out of veterans packs (its like a 1:20 or 1:30 chance)

and of course URs come out of PSPs, but the rate at which they drop is under heavy debate. Some think you get one every 10-15 packs, some think its more like every 20-30 packs. What you'll probably find is sometimes you'll get 2-3 URs in a row, while others you spend over 2 million and still don't get a UR.

the store has no logic. I'm still missing the Lancer, Geth Spitfire, and Venom. yet i've seen complete noobs (N7 rating varies from under 100 -1000) wielding these guns.

I don t think there is much debate left since the (nearly finished) study from comradeshep. All 99k packs have 7.8-8.1 % chance of dropping one UR.

You can also Move your dlc files and buy packs to go for the base items or leave a dlc pack in to go for a specific item can't you?

you can, but this has been known to cause more problems than anything else.

Many players are in a rush to get the Rare and UR weapons, and I can totally relate. Just keep in mind that consumables, gear, and mods are also important to your success. So be sure to buy Vet and Jumbo Equip packs as needed in addition to whatever SP or PSP packs you go for. Other players will appreciate it when you have equipment to use and medigel to burn when needed.

weapon mods such as the piercing, heavy barrels, hi caliber barrels, xtended mags, etc are also make a big difference in the effectiveness of your guns.

You should think about speedrunning if you want to make credits easily. All you need is missiles. Play on Jade or Glacier with your most OP kits (in case the s*** hits the fan) and nuke all the spawns. You'll probably finish a platinum match in around 15 minutes, though a well drilled team of four can easily finish in under 12 minutes.

Of course, you could just play the game normally and actually enjoy it, it's up to you... :P

Blue weapon/character/mod cards = common
Silver weapon/character/mod cards = uncommon
Gold weapon/character/mod cards = rare
Black weapon/character cards = ultra rare

Each pack has a very small chance of pulling the next rank card too. On my alt account, I was pulling silver cards out of recruit packs like crazy. Same with veteran packs and rare cards, and spectre packs have been giving me a nice bunch of URs. Managed to pull a Venom IV within a week of starting the new account and got a V recently. RNG can either be a cruel mistress or your best buddy. It will always bounce back and forth. If you want MP info, don't rely on the wikipedia op. Most if not all the stuff on there is usually wrong. There's a sticky with links to awesome guides and videos at the top of the forum. Personally I would just stick to recruit packs to max out your common weapons and mods then move on to vet packs for uncommons and then spectre packs. Cause hell, you might pull out some of the higher stuff as your buying packs.

My buying strategy on the alternate account would be two spectre packs, a vet pack and some recruit packs (depending on how the credits look at the end of each plat match). When I started, I spammed the living daylights out of recruit packs. Got a few uncommons in the process. When you do get the spectre packs, you actually might end up maxing out all your UR characters before getting all the rare characters.
