Okay, that is one person against CC and a few people for CC. Majority rules for CC.

I can't yet speak for Hawke, but default male Shepard definitely looks leagues better overall than anything I've ever seen anyone create with the editor, triply so for fellow console players.

This.

It really depends on the character creator and the quality of the default.

Sheploo did look good, but default femshep and default male and female Hawke were nothing to write home about. I hope DA:I's CC is like SR4's

Personally I only really care about what if any default/iconic inquisitor(s) are used in the likely tv/online advertisement spot. Defaults have never really interested me when a decent customizer is also a feature.

I hope BW improved its' CC for DA:I though.

Biggest thing I hope for is a slider that works the way Origins' did and not the horrid way DA2's did, and not having to use a mod to be able to tweak the default face.  To this day, the only Hawke I really like is the default, and I really only make changes to her hair and eye color.  But the slider itself was just damned annoying.

I hated not having more control of the mouth shape and not being able to move the features to an extreme in DA2.  I want to be able to micromanage every feature, I wonder if BioWare could make an awesome CC that allows this.
The defaults of DA2 are really not to my taste, but even if they were I am addicted to making my own <3 I like having much more girly man Hawkes with dark skin and fem Hawkes with long blonde hair.

I don't have much control over my own face, why should I have control over the PCs?

Because videogames.

I barely spend any time on my appearance in MMOs, when there are actually other people looking at my character. I spend far less time on my appearance in a SRPG. After all, other than cutscenes, I'm usually staring at my backside. I don't usually stick with the defaults, but I also don't have the patience to keep moving my ears up and down 1 mm at a time, either, so there's few things I will change.

Cosmetic stuff has never been my thing. I understand the crafting & customization DAI options will be extensive. Most of the cosmetic changing I will ignore. When I was looking for mods for DA:O, I ignored the 100s that focused on changing cosmetics, and looked for the 4 or 5 that affected gameplay, the only thing I'm usually interested in modding.

On the other hand, I could spend hours in the character creator for a game like NWN2, when I get to roll & create a level 20 character from scratch. What feats should I take? What two classes will synergize best with the prestige class I want? What race to pick? How do I build to make sure I can get that prestige class? How to pick spells, allocate skills, yes I can spend hours messing with my character THAT way.

We all float our boats differently, the kind of tweaking I enjoy usually has to do not with how my character looks, but changing his build, stats, and functionality. Give me a system where there's a lot of tweaking to do, and oh can I get lost in it. I'm kind of a systems guy. You may have noticed. ^_^

I would like to be able to edit the default face in cc, it was frustrating in da2 because default hawke looked so cool and I just wanted to change little like the hair color or beard or skin.

I don't understand why people would be against having a default/iconic appearance for the Inquisitor. Absolutely nothing stops you from just moving the slider over one space and then creating your ideal character. Let people that want to stick to the iconic appearance have the option. Not everyone plays the same way. Some people prefer to use the iconic appearance, either because they think it looks better than anything they could create, because they don't want to spend ages in the CC, because they just want to jump straight in and not worry about that aspect of the game, or simply because they like the iconic appearance and wish to stick with it.

Are some people trying to tell us that those ways of playing are less valid than spending hours tweaking a character's face? As I said in the first paragraph. Not everyone plays the same way.

Multiple play throughs would be pretty boring if all your pc's looked the same.
Nothing wrong in having a default but being able to create your own is also good.

I spend a lot of time in the cc, the emporium and the mod to change your appearance in origins does not help my compulsion to constantly tweek appearance, but I would rather have the option to rather than be stuck with one face, and imo bioware rarely make a good looking default face except male shepard of course. Their female defaults are all pretty ugly to me and as I normally go with a female character, they are just not good enough.

I am on the fence regarding the entire Default Vs. Custom Charcter issue because I like both options but in my opinion if Bioware does add Default apperances and they most likely will I just hope that we will be able to modify them just small features.

Things like eye color,Hair style, facial hair and hair color I hated the fact that we couldn't change Sheploo and Default Hawke "On Consoles at least" thats why I hope if we get Default Appearances we will be able to customize them to a degree no actual Face Structure changing mind you but small things should be allowed.

And when it comes to the CC that is a whole different story all together I am seriously OCD when it comes to CC's in any game period so I want a CC that rivals Saints Row 4,Skyrim,Dragons Dogma and the Sims 3 I hope that we get a better CC and not the same one from DA2 with a few pathetic additions.

I want Bioware to add a face code system similar to Mass Effect 2 & 3 and bring back the Black Emporium "The Mirror " or even better a option like SR4 giving people the ability to download their friends Charcters to tweak and play with that would be great.

And I want a CC to be released before the Games release that way I can make all my Inquisitors In preperation like I did in Saints Row 4.

Bioware make it So!!!!!

And even if it were the majority (which I doubt) why not give the choice to the player when this is a feature that can easily be added and has been present since the first game.

Not everyone enjoys the same aspects of gaming. Some people enjoy spending hours in the CC creating their PC, others just want to jump in the game. Nothing wrong with either.

Another reason is just being unable to create something you like.

After spending over an hour in the CC (which includes restarting the game after seeing what it looked like in game) I ended up plumping for the male default Hawke.

I had trouble for the longest time creating a male character that I thought looked decent. For my first male character in the series (a Hawke,) I consulted an expert. My husband helped me put the male Hawke together and he looks nice.

I'm a PC gamer (good thing too, because my husband loves his PS3/PS4) so I always mod where it's reasonable. Hawke's default look was not able to be changed on the PC version until I got that mod. Hawke's default faces were one of the first...and then a slew of cosmetic mods.

I'm also still requesting that BioWare put some different lighting into the CC. Maybe a few different styles (night, day, soft, ect,) but even just one that allows us to see what we look like in day light. I hated spending all that time on a character only to boot up the game and realize that those colors are completely different from how they looked in the CC.

yah

they always ignore the lighting in the character creation screen and then u think you made a nice looking guy, turns out his chin is 1 cm close to his neck or something equally frustrating
