Edit - I recall something about the reach evolution causing this, but I'm not 100% sure.

The AIU's code doesn't show this problem, so it would be N7 Paladin specific.

It's actually tied to the Reach evolution at rank 4. If you take that, then you get the 100% more combo damage at rank 6. It's also worth noting that even if you don't take Reach, the actual evolution for it at rank 6 doesn't do anything.

So it seems 4b - 5? - 6a is best for the Paladin, but 6b is still required to get Tech Combo on the AUI?

It is called Snap Cheese.
But does it require the 4b Reach & Tech Combo evolution to qualify as Snap Cheese?

Rank 4b (Reach) automatically gives double damage for cryo explosions primed by Snap Freeze. Rank 6b (Tech Combo) is glitched and does not work. There is no way to get double damage for tech bursts and fire explosions regardless of how Snap Freeze is spec'd.
AIU -
Snap Freeze on the AIU works as per description. Unlike for the N7 Paladin, choosing Rank 4b (Reach) does not automatically give double damage for cryo explosions primed by Snap Freeze. Rank 6b (Tech Combo) on the AIU works for all tech combos and not just cryo explosions.

Yeah, and at rank 5 I'd recommend taking Cryo Explosion for 10% more damage on targets affected with Snap Freeze. It makes Snap Freeze into a very powerful debuffing power.l TIGGER l wrote...

4b Reach & 6a Damage & Weakness on N7 Paladin
4b Reach & 6b Tech Combo on AIU

Yeah, I always take Cryo Explosion on rank 5. I just put 5? as it had no impact on the Tech Combo question. So 4b - 5b - 6a for the Paladin. And 4b - 5b - 6b for the lolbot.
Thanks for the info. And thanks to everyone else who answered.

If I switch to 6b and use incendiary/disruptor ammo to get double damage 6+1 FE's/TB's, will her explosions be centred around her or the target?
I know that the paladins version of snap freeze is buggy and causes explosions centred around him, but since the AIU's version has its evos fixed, I wonder if its explosions were fixed too?

I've always used the AIU's snap freeze as a debuff, taking 6a for the extra armour damage mitigation.

I thought that had been fixed on the Paladin but now you've got me wondering.
Something else I've been wondering for a while now. If someone with Incindiary Ammo is spraying everything in sight with a GPSMG while I'm trying to detonate Incinerate/Overload combo's with the Human Engineer will I get a 6x6 power FE or the 1x6 ammo FE?

The ammo will mask the primes you are putting out, so you'll get 6+1 explosions.l TIGGER l wrote...

This is why you should watch out for people using disruptor ammo when youre using a kit that makes its own combos, and usually use AP or warp ammo yourself on such kits.
Biotic kill teams hate it when someone masks their 6+6 BE's with 6+1 TB's.

Not just because of this, I looked at how he's specced and it does not conform to how I play him.
