Depends if she is a true psychopath. A true psycho/sociopath can't be fixed. They just do not have the ability to have empathy for others. They can mimic that they do, but deep down they don't feel anything, they are lacking both conscience and empathy.

I'm curous as to how you think Suze markets the game though. Seems to me that she has anti-sex appeal and her attitude (that she displays) isn't attractive to anyone but masochists.

Sorry. Forgot to answer that one...

It is obvious to me that BioWare wanted to create a darker game to attract an audience who usually don't play RPGs. BioWare believes (if you want the link to the article I can look it up) that the line between RPGs and shooters will be blurring. I think that SuZe will appeal to some of that audience just fine. That's why she was created.

I don't really think she will appeal to shooters any more than any other character. Her attitude and aesthetic as a woman is not something I think most shooter fans would be familiar with. I don't honestly think you can find one person like her in any video game of either shooter or RPG.

I don't know what happened to my posts. I screwed one up or the order of posts changed. I have no idea. Sorry about this. ;)

I think the word badass is the key here (if you know what I mean). Instead of creating a GoW-type character SuZe was BioWare's answer to the problem. Maybe partially chosen not to alienate their old audience too much.

BTW: Read the article here to see why I mention GoW. ;)

Her toughness is most likely a front for her insecurities, we've seen many characters and real people like this before. Usually they have more clothes though.

OP is right, can't be any other way. If there's a female ultimate badass in fiction anywhere, she can only be covering up her deep insecurities and inherent weakness.

i always think suze was the little girl kaiden save when the turian guy was trying to kill her in the biotic training. like i think legion was the first geth to ask the quarian why are we there and all that stuff.

I don't think high stress situations are Jack's forte, yet I'd disagree with the assessment that she hides her insecurity behind a tough girl act.

In her Fifght for the Lost trailer, she claims she fights "because that's what [she] was made for." I suspect that she defaults to "badass biotic" because, it's familar. Pure speculation on my part, but it seems like Jack has probably experianced quite a bit of negative reinforcement. It's not enough that she was apparently vivisected alive and experimented upon, but then had it drilled into her that she was little more than a weapon. She somehow manages to get free of her tormentors and ends up in a gang in effort to find people who aren't going to use her. Yet, after a display of power, her fellow bangers are likely either afraid of her, or suddenly more interested in her as a means of furthering their goals as opposed to her as a person. She finds her way into a cult, again, trying to find people who are going to accept her, and maybe it works for a while, but again once it's known what she's capable of, the cult leader(s) attempt to exploit her.

Eventually, she's been told so many times by so many people that her purpose is harming others that she believes it. Further, it probably doesn't hurt that if she's weilding her biotics on her own terms, then, for what's likely the first time in her life, it generally establishes that she's not in a position of submission.

So, essentially, my suspiscion is that she acts the way she does because she's never known any other way to act, and her few attempts to break outside mold, have failed rather misserablly.

Seems as though the discovery of every member is a game within itself. At first I wanted nothing to do with SuZe, however as time goes on I am thinking that she will be a big part of one of my playthroughs. I am looking forward to unraveling the SuZe storyline.

I think she's weak on the inside...

she is probbably a very interesting character to explore.
