It was working earlier and for some reason during skype, it did not work. I checked the headphones and they work for my phone.

I looked in "control panel" and clicked on manage audio devices and clicked sound, I can only see speakers and that is it. Is the audio jack snookered?

1) Try playing some music with the media player and see if they work.

2) Reboot and see if they work.

Restart your computer and get back to us.

I've had similar problems with my mic and that solved it and it never came up again.

I would also check you skype settings, as they may be deactivated on there.

It happens from time to time. For some reason the computer will become dumb and not recognize the port. I don't know the technical reasons.
