No problem. ^_^ If I hadn't worked at Barnes & Noble I would've been clueless myself!

From JeffZero's sig:   "Are we going that way? I've never seen a huge dragon before." -Merrill, Dragon Age II

Heh, I thought this was a very silly thing for her to say considering she was right there when Flemeth turned into a huge dragon. <_<  I have actually grown to like Merrill though. My first male Hawke (a blood mage himself) romanced her in my last playthrough.

It is, it is, but it's something about the way her voice actress delivers it that just had me ignoring any semblance of logic and cackling. :P

You know, ah, their relationship toward one-another. I don't want to be specific because I fear people won't appreciate being spoiled as at least one person has said they're considering picking the book back up thanks to my enthusiasm, haha.

But anyway I really like Wynne so it was kind of a big deal to me. (If she mentioned it in Origins I must have missed it.)

Jeff, I appreciate your concern for people getting spoiled. I HATE spoilers myself. But unfortunately, they always get to me. I already know how Rhys factors into Wynne's life and haven't even read that part yet  :(

Not as bad a spoiler as knowing the fate of two very important Breaking Bad characters when you haven't even seen the last season yet, though. That was an infuriating one.

Good going, Oz! I do my best to pad things out with books. This is actually really fast for me. But I know a guy who basically inhales them. I handed him A Game of Thrones at 5:45am one Monday morning and he handed it back and requested the second one at about 11:30pm. Thats about 700 pages and he had two classes and a half-hour drive to deal with too. I was like... o___o

Ouch, Breaking Bad spoilers. Yeah, those sting. I don't know how I manage to keep away from that stuff. I just have an affinity for quickly transforming ambient conversation into total gibberish and stepping briskly away or something. My school is full of eager and loud little groups and I just kinda disable the plugin known as voice recognition and go to my happy place. XD

She does. It's a banter she has with Alistair. But she doesn't go into detail about it.

I should really read the thread before I post! by Caradoc!

Adrian wrested herself free from Rhys and lurched forward. "Yes!" she shouted belligerently. "You should all be grateful!"

David Gaider is keenly aware of his greatest lines in DA2.

I almost laughed out loud at that. And there are people sleeping in this house. It's 2 AM right now.

But seriously, that was quite funny.

W-well damn, how in the name of hell do I deny that level of command...

*clicks*

That's not true! That's impossible!

And you know, the funny thing is, although you can't tell by the strange expression I chose for my avatar, I get "you look like Luke Skywalker" at school every month. :D

All this describing of the Western Approach is awesome because I know "I'm" going there this fall. Was it as awesome reading about Orlesian locales in December 2011, back when the fandom was ages from knowing a thing about the third game? Because it is awesome in March 2014, I tell ya.

Well, while I appreciate you excersion through DA2 and I may disagree with your thoughts of it, I made the mistake of reading through the thread and you revealing spoilers (Asunder). You could have at least used the spoiler tags so I didn't come acrossed them. I noticed those who replied in kind at least used the spoiler tag themselves.

HI Jeff - I've spent last night and this evening reading through this thread and wanted to thank you for sharing it all - it was so enjoyable to read! Going to have to look out your Origins post soon too. I'm so glad you enjoyed DA2 - it was my first BioWare game and the one that got me hooked on Dragon Age and later Mass Effect (which I also played backwards, playing ME2 first - I only had a PS3 at the time so that was the only option. I then got so hooked I got a 360 to play the trilogy properly, and then of course ME1 for PS3 was announced soon after. Go figure!). I've also just finished a playthrough with my first male Hawke (I usually play female), default Garrett (though I called him Joel, because hello, his face ;)). I'm envious that you weren't spoiled going in - I was and it made a huge difference! The first game I wasn't spoiled for going in was ME3, which I loved, so I'm really looking forward to going in fresh to Inquisition (provided I can avoid the inevitable online spoilers). Like you, I'm also reading Asunder ready for the new novel next month.

Oh, and when I saw you didn't bring Anders to the Deep Roads I (like many others in this thread I'm sure) let out a hiss of sympathy - I left Bethany behind on my recent playthrough. But I hope one day you try out a mage, because I adore Carver as well (I know many people don't) and ended up being friends with him on my main playthrough (being pro-Mage doesn't necessarily mean full rivalry with him, though you may have to metagame a bit sometimes to become his friend). I had him and Anders together on the Deep Roads expedition and the resulting direction and development for Carver was brilliant, I thought. I hope you get to "meet" him one day. :)

I've actually been very minimalistic about my Asunder spoilers, quite intentionally so. I write almost all my posts via my phone (you'll know when I don't because italics suddenly come into play) so marking things with spoiler tags is frequently a hassle, hence my very vague statements. I wish I could sympathize with you but unless I got drunk back there and forgot myself, I really don't think I've done anything wrong.

Closer observation of what I've said... Hmmm.

Dropping Wynne's name and referencing the Western Approach don't strike me as a big deal. If they offended you, I apologize.

By the way, you know you're welcome to speak out against my thoughts on the game, right? I myself welcome opposing thoughts. :P

Hi there! Thanks so much for the reply! I agree, Garrett is quite the Joel, isn't he? Haha.

Yeah, I didn't get into Mass Effect until the tail end of 2010 because I didn't own an Xbox 360. I still didn't at the time, even, but a badass neighbor let me borrow his so I could play ME1. I couldn't import my save file into a PS3, obviously, but I used the Genesis comic to copy over the big decisions. I had to kiss all the small stuff goodbye, though, and over the next several months I got so unexpectedly heavy into the franchise I caved and bought a used 360 so I could play the games properly. Naturally Mass Effect Trilogy eventually came out for PS3, but I don't regret my purchase as that was a good while later, after ME3 was out, and besides, as meh as Pinnacle Station is I'm still so hooked on the games that I would pinch myself for not having access to it. (The data for it was lost somehow and so PS3 owners will never have access to it. Clearly the lackluster response must have influenced the developers of Trilogy not to spend a fortune recreating it.)

As for the rest of your message, sounds good! I'll definitely try Carver someday. Mage Hawke seems uniquely qualified to get me to *want* to play a mage, because it's so vital to the story. Being an apostate in Kirkwall is big, big news. Not a matter of every 45th NPC remarking, but of carrying a weight with you everywhere you go, knowing you're being watched.

Sounds awesome from an RP perspective. :D
