I just donwloaded Mass Effect off of Steam but I'm disappointed to find out the resolution can't be set very high and the game is not in widescreen. Is there any way Mass Effect can be played in widescreen at least?

You just need a display that supports one of the widescreen resolutions. If you start the launcher and click "config" you can choose to set the display from LCD to Widescreen and then choose a resolution that your monitor supports. (I think you can do this also ingame.)

and yes the resolutions ingame are listed as (4:3) and (16:9) ingame

The PC interface is quite misleading. Hit the res dropdown and you should find a couple of blue arrows to the right of it. Scroll down and you should find more resolutions.



This really should be in PC support anyway.

I had trouble locating a widescreen resolution as well for the PC version. However, in the Config tool that's one of your options when the lil menu pops up before you load into the game, there's a few listed clear as day

I hope the menus in ME2 are designed better.
