I would love an orc race! I always liked orcs and always felt they never get a fair shake in fantasy. A new take them would be amazing. I can just imagine how they could change how they normally are.

I feel, and this is simply my opinion, that the Orc race, and generally all sub-species therein, are both over used and over-rated. 

 

I would rather see a water based race, nothing too ridiculous as under-water Humanoid species are often presented. Something along the lines of the Karkarodons from the Star Wars Universe.

Dragon Age is not the Universe to introduce furries in. The closest they should ever get in the field are werewolves.

I mean underwater races are great, but I feel the issue with orcs are their in world limitations. I often felt that they are a very interesting race and love good spins on them. Elves/dwarves/humans are overused too and are more often used than orcs.

in rpgs. I am always a water based something, and it is great, but in a video game it does behoove the devs to make an underwater place and can be hard to acknowledge when most of the time on land. Although if anyone is capable of making fantastic underwater games it would be Bioware

Actually, that is debatable...different climate didn't change races, no matter how long white men being in Africa, won't change them to African i mean not the nationality, but the feature...it is because of DNA. We human have different traits that makes us all into different races in features...it is said that the only same thing tht link us all is the color of our nails....it is not weather or climate that chage our physical, it is determined by traits.
 
Of course people can intermarried or inter ****** or inter raping with each other and create new races, the trait will pass on, if it is not disturbed in a long time, it become permanent and new race is emerged. If it is disturbed, it will either goes back to their ancestral features or becoming something else...
 
The rest is cultural and language, furthermore religion...but the nature of most religion is spreading between races, so religion is no more a factor of determine races. Culture and language is still.
 
Example Arab and Jews, both are from the same ancestor, but these two are different races altogether. They don't share same language, culture, religion, and features. It is because of they themselves evolve in different culture altogether after being separated. So an Arab is an Arab, a Jew is a Jew. Within the race there's the ehnic...in Arab there are Beduin, Quraishin, Kalb and many more...they generally share the same culture, language and features only little difference from each other
 
Why Arabs don't turn black? They live in hot and sunny climate for thousands of years. The condition is similar with Africa. Still Arab is Arab and African is African.  It is because of the DNA trait. Only this will change races feature, not climate or anything else.
 
Malay people was Indo-Aryan and the lost tribe of Israel...these mixed up and become the Mala people. "Mala" means egg...what egg? Dragon Egg....from this egg a dragon will come out and roam the earth, clean it up from all evil and injustice.....and start the age of dragon.....Dragon Age......or Skyrim "the dragons are returning..."...

DNA can be changed by enviroment we live in trough generations DNA isnt stable it can be changed by many factors
Sometimes this change is fast sometimes it takes over thousands of years and is clasified as evolution not as minor changes

Arabians arent black becouse they dont need to if they would be black theyre bodies would overheat soon brown pigment in our body isnt only about heat and lenght of day
Africa is directly in tropical belt and that means they get more UV light than in subtropical belt (arabia,north africa,south asia)
So africans need to be black so UV wont cause them skin cancer same effect as with sun bathing, body is trying to reduce UV that it isnt ready for becouse it was accustomed for lack of UV over generations and fastest thing it can do for its protection is to get brown pigment under the skin
But arabians need to be more pale becouse they still need to absorb light to produce vitamin D when sun is above Southern hemispehere and there is not so mutch light
And people that live near poles need to be white for the same reason(winter nights are longer)

Jews are no longer genetically similiar with arabians becouse they lived in europe and had children with europe women over centuries and when they came back to Israel most of them were white not pale brown only religion was still the same

What is essential to evolution is the fact that the enviroment selects the genes. As such weather and climate have a huge impact (mainly because they determine the vegetation).

 

Regarding skin color: Nuloen is absolutely right about the connection between skin color and the ability to produce vitamin D.

Per se, they have nothing to do with facial features, yes, but they have everything to do with skin color. And the key point is human beings evolved in different places under different climactic conditions, leading to different processes of Darwinian selection, over thousands of years.

The main thing that controls human skin pigmentation is the level of melanin in your skin, that in turn being controlled by several genes.

 

Functionally, though, what does melanin DO? It protects your skin from UV radiation (from the sun).

Then why the Chinese in my country don't become darkened? They still the same like Chinese in China. Chinese have been here since 800 and more years ago...yes from trades and some live here such as Baba and Nyonya Chinese...british brought more Chinese as mine workers and slaves here in WW2...so today, they didn't change a bit...the Baba and Nyonya still white yellowish and bright, the Chinese British brought also the same...

 

The ones who become darkened or even black are the ones who married with the Indians who also live in my country...

 

Another one...Portuguese are black also, they don't become brighter living in my country since 1511 AD

There's a huge difference between believing in natural selection, which even we as humans have done, not on an evolutionary level but still, and believing in lizard aliens based off of your opinion and taking what someone says out of context alone. And why the animals in Africa don't become like Africans? They are all exposed to UV rays the same with Africans.

And people that have vampirism(it doesnt mean they are vampires it only means they look like it) dont have brown pigment in theyre body and usually have very thin skin so they have to be protected by clothes
And if they wont they will die but not becouse skin cancer but becouse UV will kill all blood cells that are running under theyre skin

This is not problem of albinos becouse they have white pigment that can protect them but not so good as brown pigment

Big lips is just genetical mutation becouse it isnt in all tribes and doesnt have any purpose sutch as blonde hairs in one polynesian tribe

Japans are small so they wont require so many food becouse in past they dont always had enouth food so they could last longer without food and they came from china and those came from mongolia and Gobi desert and desert is also reason why they have slanted eyes, so theyre eyes will stay protected against sand if wind will be too strong
Europeans produce fat becouse they have to last longer with out food and to keep themselves warm and there are no deserts in europe so no slanted eyes are needed

And europeans are hybrids of momo sapiens and ****** neanderthalensis and asians are hybrids of ****** sapiens and Descendants of ****** habilis that are known as deer people becouse in theyre caves are full of deer bones

Only nation that arent hybrids of multiple Races(breeds) are bushmans they are pure homosapiens

Thing is though that darkspawn technically qualify as orcs already, using them in the traditional role.

I don't know that I'd want to classify them as their own, separate race, given that they were originally magically created and only pass on, er, werewolfness by infecting other beings.
