I don't dislike it, I was just wondering if there was a word that was less 'charged' with real world implications is all.

Actually, the Dales being kind of like Israel/Palestine makes the resemblance surprisingly close if the elves did take it over, with the exception that, unlike Palestine, the Dales are currently being held by the same nation that destroyed elven society in the first place.

There are some implications that can be made about the status of the Dales as an occupied state of the Orlesian Empire. It might be better to avoid those comparisons at this community, however.

I could quote Max Payne for hours. The V hallucination was hilarious the first time I saw it. A man caught in a noir story: "There was no glory in this. I hadn't asked for this crap. Trouble had come to me, in big dark swarms. The good and the just, they were like gold dust in this city. I had no illusions. I was not one of them. I was no hero. Just me and the gun, and the crook. My options had decreased to a singular course."

As could i but given this is drifting dangerously close to off topic discussion we should limit such interactions to PM's or something.

Please, excuse me if this has been asked and answered, but I was wondering whether it had been confirmed that the Dalish background is ONLY for an elven mage. It seems as if everyone is thinking that. Meaning an elven rogue/warrior will have a City Elf background.

My favorite Warden (the one I consider to be my canon) was a Dalish elf. I want my first Inquisitor to be an elven rogue, and I would love to be Dalish again. It would be a nice connection between my Warden and Inquisitor. I will still be an elf, even if I must have a City Elf background, I just prefer the Dalish.

As far as i am aware of; Current Dev comments reveal that only the MAGE PC will be dalish.

Ah. Thank you for the information. I was trying to find a specific comment, but couldn't on my own. I knew someone around here probably knew more than I did.

I won't lie. The news makes me sad.

There's nothing pointing to either rogue or warrior being City either. However, the fact they came out and said straight away the mage was Dalish, then also said they were investigating the possibility of the mage warranting its own unique background, makes me think, that at PAX at least, all playable elves in Inquisition were Dalish.

Oh. Geez. Now I don't know what to believe. It seems to me that we are all suffering from a lack of information--not just in regards to this, but in regards to everything. *Sigh* I hope we get new information soon. I don't like knowing EVERYTHING, but I love snippets that give me more to speculate about. Right now, the well is running a little dry.
