A 24-sided die is not a regular polyhedron. There also is no such thing as a 16-sider. The only regular polyhedra (dice) are Platonic solids. 
Tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and isocahedron. (That's 4, 6, 8, 12, and 20 sides.)

D & D has long come with a ten-sided die for rolling percentages. Technically speaking, the 10-sider is not an actual regular polyhedron, but it's close enough for government work. (This is why some will use the 20-sider, and simply ignore place value, i.e. treat 11 and 1 the same.) 

BTW, it's not hard, if you know any programming language, to also get your computer to generate a random number between 1 and 4, too. :happy:

I used to write such code in BASIC, way back when in the Upper Paleolithic.

Or for the low tech, non dice owning solution. Take two coins of different denominations. Toss the coins. Repeat until you obtain the decision you wanted.

An elven mage, no question. My hope is that I can play as an angry revolutionary, radically pro-mage and pro-elves at the same time. OVERTHROW THE CHANTRY, SLAVERY, RACISM, ALL FORMS OF OPPRESSION. THEDAS IN RUINS. Basically.

Then playthroughs as a dwarf and as a qunari! I'm so happy I don't have to play as a human, you have nooo idea.

I really loved Gimli in the books of LotR and always felt Dwarves got an unfair shake from those books in posterity. (Like the whole dwarves are stubborn thing came from an argument between Legolas and Gimli in which Aragorn implied they were both being stubborn) They are also most likely to be boiled down to a fantastical stereotype and I really love non usual dwarves.

I play dwarves for that reason. Mostly because poor Gimli has so often been boiled down to comic relief, and I feel even myth makes them more 3d than what they have become. So I adore Dragon age dwarves. Especially lady dwarves, who half the time people dont think exist.

I'm probably going to be sitting in the character creator for hours.

Yes, I may play all of them. I can't think of a class combo for the Elf plus I also think non mages are useless except if you are a dwarf fighter class. So far:

Qunari, then dwarf, human, uncertain I want to do Elf mage/Rogue.

The thing is I like to ropeplay my characters, I already know it may take hours just to get their appearance down right. Spent hours in Skyrim.

The game didn't even come out yet, but I already started thinking about my Qunari's background. He is Eshmael Ar [given last name(if given)]. Not of the Qun but he is the Savior of the Qunari people the future first Mage Arishok. What he does here was only the start.

Obviously, I can't wait.

I'm most definitely going to use a FemQunari Mage for my first playthrough; the addition of qunari as a 4th playable race was a huge selling point for me! Then depending on how the 1st playthrough went i'm probably gonna be a human rogue or elf mage ;u;

Am going to be a human first time round, but with the added bonus of Qunari, I'll need to think about who I want to be the second time around.

Hmm i'll most likely try them all at some point but the first 2 will probably be a female Qunari( Vashoth) warrior and a male Dalish mage as they'lhave the most reactivity and Qunari supposed to make some sections harder and of course it would be very interesting to see how they'll ( a Qunari following the Qun) react to it.

I really want to play a Qunari first, but I'll probably change my mind and go with either an Elf or Human. I'll be doing a playthrough of all races, so it doesn't really matter.

Due to my OCD nature, I like my RPG parties to be racially/class/gender diverse and "balanced". I try to add in as many different combinations as I can with one of each race. In origins I preferred dwarf and elf wardens so I could field diverse parties that function well.

It's kinda silly I do this, but its fun for me and it "feels right" when I play party based games. One of my favorite party compositions was in Fallout 2, ghouls, robots, super mutants, deathclaws, dogs etc. It was great!

Basically ill need to see the rest of the companions before I decide on how to best "balance" my Inquisitor in relation to the group.
