If you look back at bioware releases you will see they are netorious for pushing their games back till the following year. It just seems to be a common theme with bioware now.

Except this year is the pushback date. It originally was going to be a Fall 2013 release, but got pushed back a year.

I imagine the company would really like to get it out in northern autumn to take advantage of the Christmas sales. They're in alpha now, I believe, so the game should certainly be done by the end of the year.

That said, it's possible that it will get pushed back again. They've yet to give an actual release date. It may partly depend on what other games EA want to promote before Christmas.

I wish they pushed DA2 back another year as we could have had a good game with a good ending that made sense.

Having said that i don’t think DAI will be delayed.

Why do you hate joy, OP?

Seriously though. Judging from Twitter the Devs seem to be putting in a lot of extra hours. So it seems they're really pushing for it to be out on time.

Well, I think EA learned from DA2 and even ME3 that RPGs can't be rushed like gameplay-based games, hence why they were generous to give an entire extra year.

For the past four years EA has released a AAA shooter during the fall, specifically during October, as their major holiday release. They confirmed they were not making a MOH game anymore and after the BF4 debacle they will not rush another BF game, so EA needs to release a AAA game this year during the fall even if DAI is not ready.

On the other hand I noticed the UFC game developed by EA still does not have a release date, so maybe if EA thinks DAI needs more time then they would have UFC released during the fall and DAI might be released spring 2015.

It was already pushed back, and I'm not sure EA is willing to give them another year...

Plus, nothing so far indicates that they won't be able to meet the deadline (unlike last year, where DA wasn't even announced by the time fall rolled around).

So no, I don't think they're gonna delay it till 2015.

Although I know I am in the minority on this but i'd prefer if it was delayed till christmas.
My reasoning is purely selfish and personal as I am too bussy this year (and poor)

I do kinda feel like its weird we haven´t had more information about the game though... Its prob about 6-8 months till release, and we should have known more. When do you guys think they will release more info?

And what about the new ME game?

They delayed it once I doubt they would do that again. Not with EA holding the control rod.

Is netorious some sort of mash up of nefarious and notorious? If so, I like it, but it will only work in print. It will fail as a neologism when spoken.

Also, in the absence of insider information, any speculation of this sort is merely a W.A.G.  :wizard:

I don't think the game will be delayed unless some catastrophic happens.  Technically Dragon Age: Inquisition has been delayed a year, but it was only from their internal release time because they didn't have an public announcement of when the game was going to be release.

The reason why I believe we haven't heard much about the game is because of how people reacted to Mass Effect 3 with "you lied" or "you promised" or other comments based around social media comments so they haven't really released any information that way.  Add in that really the only time there is a lot of information about a game released is during the gaming convention cycles so they can make those announcements infront of an audience.  So, I fully expect to have more information in the next  few months.

I hope not, but if BioWare needs more time to make the game then so be it, although I doubt EA would give them extra time

I just assumed that when they said "Fall 2014" they meant "Spring 2015".

Here's a wild idea. How about believing them?

The main Dragon Age Inquisition page says "Fall 2014".

I guess that is anywhere from Sep. 21st, 2014 to Dec. 21st, 2014.

If they don't have it out before Christmas, I think EA will send the guys with the cattle prods. Lord knows they want it out before Christmas. Christmas is the Bonanza season for games.

I know it's crazy, but I won't think it's delayed, until they SAY it is delayed. Foolish? Perhaps. Once they change "Fall 2014" to "delayed" we can begin bickering over how long. Kind of like arguing over what flight delays mean at the airport.

From what I've seen and read so far I have no reason to think that they're going to push it back to 2015.

This same exact conversation happened last year, when it was Fall 2013 as the release date. And the exact same responses were found.

Not to say they are good, bad or indifferent, it is just important to note that assuming anything, even that developers are right, is never a guarantee.

I don't want it out until it's 100% done. Don't give us the Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3 treatment, please. I'm begging you on my knees. As much as I loved Dragon Age II, even I can see the flaws. Pardon me, Hawke... I can't wait for Inquisition, but I MUST if I want a good quality video game. So I will wait all the time it takes.

No way, José.

They already pushed it back a year, I can't see that happening again.

I am expecting another delay. In all seriousness, all we have is a few clips, some twitter statements, and some concept art. There is no assurance for how far along they are in the game's production. Absolutely none.

The first due date was most likely something thrown out to please some shareholders, who always think they can spend $10 and make $2000. A total fabrication with little to no grounds in reality. The second was (probably) a "goal" for Bioware-a date set so that they have something to work for, and also to say they have a date. Most likely very optimistic, and while much more practical than the first, still not wholly viable. So I'm expecting another 3-6 month push back for them to actually finish the game.

Frankly I wouldn't mind if they delayed it. I don't need it to survive, and if they need to delay it so we don't have ANOTHER train wreck, please do so. It is much better for both Bioware and us if they do. Just stay the hell away from Duke Nukem Forever territory and delays are fine.
