I started to play Mass Effect because Hale voiced it.

Better to reign in The Other Place than serve in Heaven, eh?Stardusk wrote...

Both are Shepard and both have their strengths. I am reasonably confident...about the next MP...not the SP.dr_random wrote...
I'm not sure - Hale's voice is so Shepard and Shepard's gone. I take confidence they cast a set of very capable VAs again.

5 months. 5 months from now I will show you a sign of my return, should you survive till that point in time.
It's good to see you here! Try Sudoku. I recently met someone who beats my speed records. Meanwhile, I should go back to plotting my revenge.

I think there's a good chance he'll come back to voice Hanar, Vorcha and some Volus.

I find it pretty confusing to be talking to some Elf in Dragon Age, realizing mid conversation I'm talking to Ashley (hello, immersion breaker). I can only imagine I'll find it downright annoying to have my Shepard's voice suddenly attached to some random character.

At maximum, the ME series Voice Actors should possibly get a single cameo appearance.
Any more than that, and I get visions of train wrecks.

Meer - Is a more ranged VA from what I've seen, though more monotone as Shepard (not necessarily a bad thing in ME2-3, but bleh in ME1). He's totally welcome by me. In fact, I'd be surprised if he's not in the game.
But major protagonist? Erm, well, if there's no Shepard or Shepard-related protag, then no. If there is, somehow, then yes.
Supporting role, maybe.
Random/important tertiary NPCs, sure!
Hale - Is a less ranged VA from what I've seen, though was more expressive and distinct as Shepard ("FemShep" is often its own thing, compared to more various MaleSheps).
She's welcome by me, but not as much. And I'm also less confident about her playing anything other than tertiary NPCs.
She can play secondary characters as long as her voice is only recognized as "Jennifer" and not "Shepard'. I know Meer can do this, but I dunno about Hale yet.

like some others have said here, hearing your shepards voice (recognizably of course) completely breaks immersion. I would support both because I love them both but I would not want to hear them in a mass effect game where you go "wtf, that's..."

Jennifer Hale, absolutely. But who is Meer?

He's Male Shepard's VA.

I'd prefer if they didn't to be honest. Hearing Mark Meer voice other roles was really immersion breaking.

Mark Meer also did the vocie's for Hanar, Vorcha and Volus (including the Biotic god).

I only every play as a female, so can only speak for Hale, but I think she is an amazing VA. So amazing though, that her voice *is* my Sheps. It would be immersion breaking for me to hear her again in a major role, especially as a protagonist.
I even twitch a little when I hear my Hawke in ME3 ![]()

Pfft, Hale is Bastila for me. You can easily tell new and old fans judging on this.
