According to the pdf instructions, the graphics settings should be 1024x768.
With my screen BG2 runs fine with settings of 1280x960 and obviously is a lot better for playing the game.
1) Will leaving those settings at 1280x960 cause a problem when I install BGT?
2) Once BGT is installed can change those settings?

BGT uses the BG2 engine so you have the same flexibility to change settings as in vanilla BG2. You can also install the Widescreen mod if you want an increased range of resolutions.

Yip, because BGT uses the BG2 engine, you can alter the graphics, difficulty, sound etc, from the BGConfig program that is in your Shadows of Amn folder, before or after the BGT install. As said, you can get the widescreen mod as well, which is compatible with BGT (although the widescreen mod must be the last thing you install).
