HI,

This is problematic, because if that's true then you could easily use
the technology to create machines that generate more energy than they
require to operate, also known as a perpetual motion machine. It would
also mean that if you got, say, a Frigate, you could get to 0.999C aimed
at a planet, then drop your ME fields into reverse and smash into the
planet with a velocity of 0.999C and a Mass of 10,000,000 tonnes,
shattering it on impact. Or, say, a Reaper. Or any ship for that matter.
In fact, largish missiles would almost certainly be the weapon of
choice, because you could whack a drive core into a small missile and
get it to split the Destiny Ascension in twane with no possible
intercept time (since you're travling at ~ the same speed as their
lasers are).
