I thought a break from the game would help but I am still play like a scrub. I speculate that since I have maxed my manifest and played for so long that I have lost my motivation to do better. Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just me?

Partly burnout, I say. My recklessness has increased proportionately with how much better I have gotten. I find that when I scale back and play like I did when I first started playing Gold (afraid of dying), that I can have some of my best games.

That said, a lot of it is just mental error as well. Even knowing I can handle the situation I get killed in, I will make a mistake or just have some bad aim that causes me a death and/or ops pack(s). I have also noticed that 3-4 games is usually my max before my focus slips more, so I play very poorly after that.
Either way, I still enjoy playing with you LoneWo1f. I don't care whether you are the greatest player of all time or the biggest scrub in my small backpack, you are enjoyable to play with and that is all that matters to me.

Just not caring like you used to my guess. It is the same for me anytime I PUG Gold with a friend, I just can't bring myself to use anything really good or I am just bored to tears. It is why I stick to the solos/duos for Gold and trios for Platinum most of the time now since they give me some form of motivation to play better.

You are probably right. Perhaps it is time to try out duos or trios for awhile. The Plat. game where we had to duo because the PUGs left made me play somewhat better.

I definitely feel scrubbier than I was just after I maxed my manifest. I thought this through and I think it may due to several factors.
- My friends are too good and getting better and better, as I've reached my best level. I was always a scrub but now it shows on the scoreboard.
- For some reason I play only gold with aforementioned friends now, which is a totally different game than pugging U/U/P. I think pugging plat all day every day is a very good training.
- I've discovered what was mouse dampening along the way and since I've removed it, my aim is still weird. I can't go back anymore though.
- I don't play as much and also switch between different games. Every time I start a ME3MP session, I need more time to adjust.
- My insomnia is getting worse.
- I stopped really trying to get better.

I exclusively play duos and solos. It's more fun and it teaches you a lot IMO.

I have done a few duos and I agree with you so far. I became easily bored with the solos however. It is too bad that almost all my friends have moved on or play at different times now.

To be honest, I pug pretty much exclusivly, but there have been some rare occations that a four man pug turns into a duo like halfway in which were great fun. Solos are boring, but duos are a nice change in the player dynamic from a full 4 player team.

Since I finally got "good" at the game, I've always been hit and miss. I haven't played much in the last few weeks though so I'm definitely not at my personal best in most of my games right now.

They are less boring when you do them faster

I gave up carrying PUGs, went on multiple month-long hiatus's, stopped trying, lost my ability to insta-rocket spawns on objective waves, gave up trying to "warmup" my skills. Yeah, game over.

The problem is that I am a slowpoke at almost everything (except eating). But I see no reason to do a couple more solos at this point. The BS soldier is definitely worthy for a solo since he is a badass.
