Don't get me wrong, it's nice and all that.. It's nice to see something difference. Not too shabby looking at all.

But I don't get the rationale behind the timing of this. As well as some other factors.

I would have thought the forum would have been "purged"- just flush out all the old threads. Get the "toxic" out.

I also thought they would hold off on the forum update untill DA:I's release or some other major public event. I mean, if they are gonna get the toxic out, they'll inevitably toss a few people, and they'd need more so that this place wouldn't be dead. And they'd get more from the game release or another public event.

But those are merely my views on the matter. It was nothing new that they planned to update the forum, but this isn't what I had in mind for why and how.

Thoughts?

Are the bottom images not suppose to be image buttons? Only the EA button is working.

Doesn't look like they are working, but they probably are intended to be.  I'll let Brian and Co. know.  Thanks.

why can't I quote someone!!!

What browser are you using? Does it not show the quote in the edit box that appears? Are you just using the quote button?

Multi quote only allows for 1 quote??

I love the preview option. Must test new site on my mobile phone. ;)

If you click on Multi-quote, a box was showing up on the lower right with how many multi-quotes I had selected.  When I finally clicked on that box, it gave me the text box with all the quotes (using Firefox)

Did bioware by chance add any kind of feature to hide spoilers?

You can post in spoiler tags by selecting the blue "twitter" icon, and then choosing Spoiler from the dropdown of options which appears afterwards.

edit:

Or you can post with [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] (no spaces) around your text.

Like so

Spoiler

hey does anyone know how to view the old now read only BSN?

You can get to the old forums with the controls at the bottom of the page.

By default, they appear as images - click the arrow in the centre of the page, and that should expand the "Legacy BioWare Social Network" entry to a list, including projects and similar pages.

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to social.beta.bioware.com

Did you mean: biowarecom

Oh your post was still your old instructions when I posted that !? The link works thank you

Thanks!

I've let our devs know - this should be fixed soon.  For now, just remove the ".beta" from the link.

edit:

And now it should be fixed.

I believe the behaviour of no images in signatures is by design - a small number of people managed to add them when the site first went up, but it was changed a few minutes later.

For some reason when ever I click "quote" I'm unable to quote a comment from another user, anyone know how it works?

"Quote" should embed their text directly in the quick reply field at the bottom of the page, while "multi-quote" will create a prompt in the lower right that you can use once you have selected all of the posts you'd like to multply-quote.

I believe there is an issue with IE10 and quoting, but it should work correctly in other browsers such as Chrome.

Hi Drone223 -

IE10 has an issue with quotes unfortunately - it should work in other browsers, however.

Click the image on the left of the topic row. It will depend on the thread but most will look like this t_read.png.

Also, you can read our help thread that describes some of the new features.

Unfortunately, the back-end was a bad setup, and so it was too difficult for us to make sure the actual content was moderated efficiently and effectively.

This can't really be understated.

I'm not even a dedicated mod, and already I'm like "holy moly this is a billion times better."  Plus, a lot of things didn't even work properly and it was basically strings and glue keeping the thing from imploding on itself.
