I had a few pages of threads subscribed on BSN.
It won't let me unfollow them here, because they're already designated as not followed, as in, there's a miscommunication in the code. It won't let me remove them ![]()

You can change the background, it's limited though - the paintbrush on the right, beside the "Search Function".
What the fluff. You have over 14k posts.

That's what been said. Correct me if I'm wrong, but post counts never did display before right? Not sure what the big deal is then.
The big deal is that I. MUST. KNOW.
How do you view last post?
Click the image on the left of the topic row. It will depend on the thread but most will look like this
.
Also, you can read our help thread that describes some of the new features.
Thanks.
Hopefully you guys get these other issues sorted out soon.
Edit: Err, it's not quite the same. It says "go to first unread post"... but if you've read all the posts it won't work anymore.
Unfortunately, the back-end was a bad setup, and so it was too difficult for us to make sure the actual content was moderated efficiently and effectively.
This can't really be understated.
I'm not even a dedicated mod, and already I'm like "holy moly this is a billion times better." Plus, a lot of things didn't even work properly and it was basically strings and glue keeping the thing from imploding on itself.
This seems to be an internet trend. Grey on white for forums. What gives? It's hard to read.
It reminds me of some electronic gear I have where the designers thought it was cool looking to put light grey lettering on a medium grey background. Black letters. Black letters on white background. And quotes? It's lighter gray on white.
If there is a way to fix this
The forums definitely look better, I am very very very grateful for the custom avi upload, the beautiful themes and I love the little like buttons.
However, I'll need a lot more time to actually get used to everything.. Like, the absence of a feed? It seems very strange to me... And as others have mentioned before; RIP gif D:

Sleek, modern look. It's 2014 going on 2020! ![]()
I get what's being attempted with this design, but you have to tread carefully, and so far BioForum isn't where it should be, at least for the color scheme.
Even the actual Dragon Age Inquisition teaser page understands this more. Black text on White has its uses, but not in most forums.
Well, I'm back and my post count hasn't been corrected yet. Ideas anyone?
It may have been corrected, I don't know. 7,500 posts?
Yes, very clever. White background and smooth 50 % grey color for the font... The color palette of 256 has more than just one grey tone ![]()

Well mines good now.
I did have about 9k+ posts last time I counted so I'm happeh!
If it had counted all the group posts I'd had had a hilarious amount of them.
Do I get anything special if i post now like a madman to be one of the special-posters with 7k upwards posts...who have to anything an oppinion?
I like onions btw
The Session Management seems to be slightly broken - if you don't check the "remember me" tick box on logging in it doesn't even remember you for the duration of your session - so you get logged out as you move from one page to another. Since I'm on a work PC atm I'm going to have to ensure that the cookie is deleted when I shut the browser down... oki - it's prettier than the old forum system; shame it doesn't actually work properly (contrast in places is a little low as well - dubious as to whether it would pass muster on WAI).
... and it's slow.
I would have thought the forum would have been "purged"- just flush out all the old threads. Get the "toxic" out.
No, I'm glad that they didn't purge the old forum. In spite of the nasty stuff, there are plenty of good, helpful BSN threads. The NWN custom content forum is a godsend. When the pre-BSN forums were lost, OldTimeRadio put together an offline archive to save all that useful information. Would have been a shame for BW not to learn from that experience. ![]()
I'm okay with them not purging threads, but the ones that were necro-related if we'd post in them.. I don't see the use of keeping those.
First of all I like the new forum and the look of it ![]()
There is still a lot to discover, at least for me.
The mobile version is also fine and I have to say with the mobile version the white background is not bad at all. Especially as I think that it is more a black instead of grey for the letters.
What I miss with the mobile version is to recognize who Bioware staff members are. This is not shown in the threads/postings as it is in the full version.
And as much as I like the white and black with the mobile version I have to agree that it is not OK here in the full version. Especially as the grey is too light to be easily recognized.
But I think Jessica said something about 4 different skins which we will be able to chose. Or did I misunderstand something? Will this not be implemented?
Hmm, ambivalent about it so far. Should be fine if we get an easier on the eyes colour scheme option before long. Being able to edit a post is a nice improvement (the number of misquoted messes I ended up with before was a big problem). I'm not usually one for redesigns, they generally smack of change for the sake of change, but BSN was starting to get a bit long in the tooth so I'm hopeful for this version once the problems have been ironed out.
This doesn't even feel like a "Bioware Social Site", I guess that is their plan.
I have the same feeling. It feels wrong, is too shiny and damn i miss my "What`s new" and comment wall!
Just flush out the old stuff... that could only say a mastermind...
