I'm always excited and also slightly apprehensions whenever a website I use gets an update.
I was not disappointed this time; somebody at BioWare clearly knows his/her design principles.
It's shiny.

Biggest issue is the white. Ahh, too bright.
It's also running slow right now but that's expected.
but its take TEN times longer to load pages.... 
The site is extremely laggy for me so far; takes quite a while for pages to load. Looks nice, though. It's definitely a more "modern" feel to the site, I just hope they add some more themes eventually. The super bright white everywhere is a bit much.
I don't mind it. I think the BSN was due, but I miss the social network part of the site.
There hasn't been any new info to talk about for a while on any game but I still care here to screw around on friends profiles and post statuses and see what is going on amongst my friends. Wish that wasn't gone.
But the facelift is nice. There are a lot of things they did well.
I can finally change my avatar to a picture of my choosing without jumping through ridiculous hoops. I can also change my name.
Overall, A+. Good job whomever designed this.
This is definately shiny and a vast improvement on the old. I am happy sofar, really, brings a tear to my eye. Long overdue!
PM UI is a major upgrade.
Never thought that would be something I'd be happy to see.
The lack of a friends feed really kills it for me. Also the removal of the Buccaneer language. And I find the whole thing far less readable.
But at least it isn't a major project to change your avatar now. So I can say one nice thing about it.
Other than my squinty squinting right now, the memories from old groups, my gif avatar, and the Posts by Friends news feed,
YES this does include all the features I expect from a modern forum. 
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Darker theme, a news feed and more privacy options and you'd have a really good setup. Still miss polls and my Busey gifs though but I can live without them.
Really missing the feed, some features are a great addition but the soul is gone.

I really want polls back. I know their current stance on it, but I don't care. I want them back. I like them. That is all.
One issue I have now is that it seems the native Firefox spell check doesn't seem to be working, so I will have to download an extension for that. However, I've seen that with other forums in the past so it wasn't a huge surprise.
Just replying to this to add that I figured out how to fix this issue.
In Firefox about:config change the layout.spellcheckDefault value to 2. Read more about it here.
I love the forum navigation, thats much simpler along with the multi-quote button. Been needing you for a long time old friend 
Im fairly sure im not the first person to say this but the white! arghhhh a darker tone would be nice. Also I find navigating options more difficult and I really miss my community news feed when I log on. Yeah things have been added, but Im missing more the things that have been taken away at the moment.

Let's face it, the old BSN forum was pretty toxic at times.
Perhaps this fresh coat of paint will help it to avoid those difficult threads.
I think it's a good step.
Loving the new forum, but looking forward to some extra (dark) themes. I mean, DA:I, as dark fantasy, will surely have dark themes. 
Hopefully we'll have the same!

It's easier to navigate than before, the design is nice and I love the background.
