A darker theme would be nice.

Why are forums separated by language?

There was always more than one BSN it just had the language select on startup, we put them together into 1 forum.

Also I merged another thread into this one

1) The white background, too bright.

2) White text on light gray boxes with all the other white space on page....hard to read.

3) The lighter gray text within the light gray boxes (i.e. the Posted Today...)....hard to read.

4) I keep getting security warning pop-ups that the link is a dangerous page with known malware when I click on links.

Overall, I think it's an improvement - but the default text should really be darker. I can barely read some of the quotes (or even this post) due the light gray color, and I have to agree that a darker option for the text backgrounds would be nice. That being said, I rather do like the wallpaper and custom avatars (finally - hooray!) quite a bit, along with the improved message editor.

A couple more suggestions...

1. Spell-checker.

2. Spoiler tag button. Now, I see there's a...

Spoiler
... for it, but a button would be handier.

I have the same issues as Jaulen, but I'm not getting the pop ups (I use Chrome w/ AdBlock.)

As another nearsighted person, this new layout hurts my eyes quite a bit.

I'm still trying to get used to the new layout since this came as a pretty big shock and the feedback thread that's here doesn't seem to be loading up for me, for some reason.

Which is weird, but I digress.

First thing I'm critical of is the color scheme. Too bright for me personally. I much preferred the older one. Thing is that staring at overly bright things for too long starts to affect my eyes in a bad way. Not the background image, but rather everything else like when I'm scrolling through the forums. Be nice if it could change to something darker.

Next thing is how it seems like we can spy on people. Don't know about you, but I really don't think people should be able to see whose profile I'm viewing or what I'm currently doing just by hovering over my name.

That's less about making a friendly place for people to gather and more about creating a haven of creepiness.

On the plus side, a full text editor is nice to have.

Same here. I've turned my screen brightness way down as well, but it'd just be a bit easier to have something other than SNOWDEATH WHITE.

Same. This layout looks like office2013 which I hate. And whats with the 'like' system, is this forum now a branch of facebook? I hate facebook too. Old forum looks much better.

I would also have wanted my game icons and avatar to follow my account. Now its all blank.

The colors are very painful on the eyes.. Needs to be darker. Looks like an Origin forum right now....

I'd like to be able to follow the conversations on which I've most recently posted, to determine whether they have responses I should check.  Currently, however, I'm shown the conversations in which I've ever posted, sorted by whether they have recent responses.

If I last posted in a thread 3 months ago, I probably don't care much about the new posts.  But stuff I posted in yesterday, sure.  In order to recreate this feature from old BSN, I now have to cross-reference two different profile pages.

you can add your game icons. You have to copy your games' profiles links in the general account page of 'My setting', though it works only for DAO, DA2 and ME3.

That said, I do like that we can now (as we used to be able to on the old BioBoards, but not old BSN) easily advance directly to our own posts.

That might actually be better.

I wish settings icon allowed us to change the background color of the board.  That'd help with the brightness issue.  Other than that, being able to select the theme is neat!

Also, I am personally offended by the word "scuttlebutt".

I am reminded of Ace Attorney, followed by booties and then pirates.  Isabela?!?  It's an interesting association I guess.

Seconding all these things.  If we wanted to be on Facebook, we would NOT be here

Some of the things at the old site definitely did need to be improved upon.  But this new BSN is a huge pile of things that don't make sense at best or are downright creepy at worst.  Not only did you not offer any true improvements on the things that needed it, you got rid of all the things that worked fine!

You can log out , then when you log in there's  a" Sign in anonymously" box to check.

I think it should solve the problem.

I also find the white background unpleasant to look at and would love a darker option.

I like the new features. Custom avatar, improved editor, etc.

I miss the old relative time reference though, "3 minutes ago, 5 hours ago, 3 months ago, ...". Would be nice to have that back.

Also, I can confirm what some users said: The page is very slow compared to the old one (I'm in europe btw).

As for the color, I guess it's something I can imagine getting used to with time.

I'm relieved its being looked into because as someone who is nearsighted, its very hard on the eyes.

This.

But other than being blinded B) , I'm liking the changes.

The lack of a feed is intolerable! By Jupiter's ****, we should not have to suffer such indignity!

If Gods are willing, BioWare's team shall remove head from ass and be set to proper purpose.

I would make them break words with these filthy coders and have them return with feed functionality, to the gratitude of all.

Fighting coders is like fighting a grist mill. The stone keeps on turning.

No matter how many times you attack it, in the end it grinds you down to dust.

The gods rain **** upon us!

For the theme colours, it's something the community team is aware of and looking at possibly adding more support for in the future.

A lot of people are specifically asking for a "darker theme". While that certainly has merit, I think it's important to realise that the current white theme definitely needs a bit of work, too. I like the white but the combinations of font size and colouring do not match well and hurt readability.

The main font size is 12pt/14px. This size is used in the reply form and is very good. The post body uses 9pt/12px, and this is what we'll be reading all the time.

The post body colour appears to be #666. This can be safely darkened quite a bit.

For those like me that have a lot of trouble with the too-white scheme, someone was very kind to start a thread with a workaround that will do for now.  It gets rid of the background picture, but the colors are easily customized and makes it a lot easier to read.

Thanks Shadohz, you rock!
