So, I am playing thru the City Elf Origin for a second time (had to see what happened differently if I was playing a girl) and just like the last play thru, I noticed a TON of plot items that seem to have no use.

These items (things like Brandy, Rat Poisen, etc) seem to have no use, but I bet I could use them to drug/kill gaurds and what not. There has to be SOME use for the half dozen or so plot items you find inside the keep of the arl. You only start finding them after you break into the keep/break free from captivity in the keep, and they are all over the place. Almost every other lootable container has one.

Anyone have any idea what they are for?

well if you walk into the Room with the 3 guards gambling and you have the brandy and rat poison in your inv, and you Do not have any weapons equipped. You get the Option to poison the 3 instead of Fighting them

It seems like maybe the cleaner can be used to poison them too. Maybe it only knocks them out or something.

Your absolutely right, both the rat poison or the Cleanser will do the trick. I tried only picking up the Cleanser and Brandy and got the poison prompt. :)

is there another room that this trick works in? As a rogue you can get the cleanser the poison and two brandies.

If you're not a rogue, you tell them that you're going to get their drinks, and you can get all you need from the closet on the other side of the room.
