Lack of "last page" functionality in the Mobile browsing mode

Browsing long threads on mobile is pretty frustrating since you cannot skip to the last page at once. There's 5 button shortcuts on top, allowing us to skip 2 pages ahead at a time. Currently the DA:I twitter thread is 840 pages though. The button that says "next" is mocking me ;)

Hope this can be looked into real fast. The new mobile look is sweet, but as long as things work like this it is useless for longer threads.

You can change out the page number in the link to get there faster for now.

Thanks for the report - when I get back into the office tomorrow, I'll add a bug for this, if one does not already exist.

It sounds like it may be an issue on Android. On the iPhone at least, it will properly go to the last post in the thread when you click the link.

Now this is interesting. Today, the mobile version looks very different. Yesterday it was very much themed in greys, today it's white and blue. Along with the colour changes, the page mechanism changed completely.

Yesterday, I was taken to the first page when clicking a thread and could pick between 5 pages (along with buttons for Next and Previous).

Today, I am taken to the last page when clicking a thread, but I can never move more than a single page at a time using the UI - I can't even tell what page number I'm on. It doesn't say anywhere. What's more, the Next and Previous buttons are located below the posts themselves so I can't read them.

This is very, very confusing, but at least now I can get to the end of the twitter thread quickly. But it also takes me 840 clicks to get to the original post within the same thread.

Interesting - I tried it on my own phone (Nexus S) and it is showing the page number, along with Prev / Next page controls, in grey colours.

I'll still put in a bug, but it appears to be less cut and dried than just "all android".

Do you know the version of the OS your phone is running?

Mine wouldn't display it either. I'm running an iPhone 4's iOS 6. I've switched to the full site mode until further notice. :)

Samsung Galaxy S3
Android version 4.3.0
Chrome version 32.0.1700.99

Anything else you'd need me to post? =)

No, that should be good :)  I was using the default android browser on my phone, so that alone gives us some starting points.

Thanks!

I think this is because there are 2 mobile versions of the site (for me also on android) clicking "use mobile version" at the bottom of the page brings up a blue/white one with only arrows to flip through the pages of the thread one at a time. However, if I go to the bottom of the page and click change theme I get a gray and white version with the page numbers and arrows.

You're a genius! Just got back on grey and white today. Was all confused why. Both links should go to the same place.

That said, we still need a "first" and "last" button.
