Like, I at least wanted more story for Morinth in ME3.
Jacob? Seemed cool in that mobile game story, and alright in his backstory, but his implementation in ME2 left a lot wanting.

The worst thing about Jacob wasn't the character but femshep's god awful 'tell me more about yourself' dialogue option.

Bioware tries to be diverse but it's hit and miss. The less ratio of 'white straight male' developers, the less you *might* see such cringeworthy dialogue in a game (specifically in this case, the more black developers).
Don't read more into this post than what's intended; there's a significant role for any major demographic, I'm only saying that some more cultural and racial perspective could have stopped this disaster of a character from happening (and he had initial promise!!!!).
That is, unless they intentionally made Jacob this way and knew how people would react, which would be horrible.
On the other hand, there's the sexual ridiculousness of Miranda and dat ass. Guys, it's totally possible to make a character sexy without being overtly sexual in presentation. In fact, it happens all the time with other characters.
I do love Citadel DLC Miranda though. Whoever wrote/choreographed/etc that was great 
Jacob? Eh, well, at least he didn't make me hate him in Cit DLC. That's a start!
