Spec Vivienne into Frost too, since half the dragons are vulnerable to that too. Plus if you chill or freeze a dragon's leg, it can be detonated with Vivienne's Spirit Sword or Fade Cloak or any other detonating ability. Massive damage abound!

Heyo lol.

Just started a Human 2H Warrior, and livestreamed it for my buddies who weren't sold on Inquisition yet. Sure enough, I sold them before Ser Trevelyan got out of the Fade!

They mainly wanted to see the creator, which they loved, but after that was gravy. They loved what they saw. Streamed until the Inquisition was formed. Job well done, I say.

132 hours in and I've done most of the sidequests. I have about 5-10 things left on my war table (not including the ones that are infinite like resource ones). More than half of the map locations have no sidequests left or the only sidequest left is glitched and I can't turn it in or there are a few of those stupid shards left. I've killed maybe 5 dragons. I think I only have one story mission left so I might forego the side stuff and just finish up the story tomorrow bc it's starting to feel like a second job. lol.

My only complaint is that the story started out super strong and took a while to really get started, but once you get to Skyhold there's only like, 4 or 5 main story quests and it seems like the closer to the end you get, the more rushed the story feels. Obviously I still haven't finished it so I could be totally wrong. I'm just getting KotOR 2 vibes right now and it's bumming me out a little. (And yes, I know KotOR 2 was obsidian, but still.)

Feeling slightly the same... but then, part of it is going off on the tangents and not seeing the story flesh out piece after piece with little time between them.  But, I will say some of the side quests do feed back into the story nicely in terms of lore, fleshing out the intricacies.  Doing Suledin Keep right now and it is nice to see the efforts of your enemy first hand instead of simply talked about later.

I don't have a kinect, and I don't feel like I'm missing out. Also, it's cheaper, so there's that...

Regarding DA:I, I just finished it last night. It took me about 70 hours, I didn't do everything, but the only missions I had left in my log were the boring "Get X item for Y party member" type quests for Vivienne, Blackwall and Dorian, so I opted out of doing those. All things considered, the story for Inquisition is pretty good, better constructed than 2's and less generic fantasy than DA:O, although not quite as strong throughout all acts as I'd like. It does have a few twists that did manage to blow my mind near the end.

One last thing, when you beat the game, watch the credits through 'til the end, as there's an after-credits scene, which also was kind of "Oh ****" worthy.

I'm glad to hear your thoughts on it, Odin. That makes me feel better. I love the game. I was just kinda worried by the pacing of the last few missions I did. I'll hold my thoughts on it until I finish. I'm sure I'll still love it when I'm done though. I probably just got a little burnt out from doing 48 hours worth of sidequests in a row.

Yeah, I know what you mean and I think Kab nailed it. There's so much going on outside of the main story that it kind of feels disjointed because it can easily be 5-8 hours between story missions.

Sometimes I feel like there's too much game here. Not that I'm complaining, mind you...

I think what threw me off most was that the prologue was an hour on average. It took an hour just to get to the title opening. Then you have to spend 7-10 hours or so just to get to Skyhold, which to me, felt like that was the true beginning point for the story. Partially bc Bioware had been talking about it for so long and saying things that seemed like the story revolves around Skyhold in a way, that I honestly expected at least another 20 hours of main story content. I didn't view Skyhold as the half way point. To me, at the time, it seemed more like a quarter-completion point and I thought I still had 3x as many hours to complete the main story. In reality of course, Skyhold kind of is the half way point and it's my own fault for assuming otherwise. The pacing of the game is just really weird to me. It's almost like they're dependent on people putting in hours on sidequests, but a lot of those just feel like filler to me. There are some awesome side quests and I've had fun with the majority of them. I know this sounds like a complaint, but it's not. I think what also throws me off is the fact that there's a ton of dialogue with companions and whatnot early on, but if you talk to them regularly, you run out pretty quick so the sidequests seem a little isolated in comparison to the story missions. Again, I'm not complaining. I think they went above and beyond what they did in the last two games. I'm just trying to pinpoint why it feels so disjointed to me at parts, I guess.

Nice Andy!

And Meg/Odin maybe it's because we haven't had a BioWare game this open before? You got to think, with previous Dragon Age titles, and even the Mass Effect trilogy, we had a more streamlined, narrow experience. There were seemingly more "main" story missions and side quest content was lengthy but not in plentiful supply, that and there isn't as much dialogue between companions.

With Inquisition however they focused more on an open world, tons of stuff to do, with expansive story missions, that while there weren't many, were pretty broad in scope. There's more dialogue than I've ever seen, and side quests were plentiful and varied.

I think its really just the huge change in how the game was made is what's throwing you guys off. For BioWare, this game is unprecedented and unexpected.

I can't say much about the game since I'm way too early, but I will say it's a damn shame Leliana isn't romanceable this time. Them be some pretty polygons.

That's my deep thought for the day. :D

Yay, Andy! You'll have to let us know your thoughts as you progress.

And yes, Leliana looks really good. But if your warden romanced her, at least you get some really cute dialogue about it.

Hey guys here's some info that will be a huge help.

You can buy the best armor schematics in the game from a vendor in the Hissing Wastes. Head West-Northwest from the starting camp and get to The Canyon Camp. From there there's a nearby canyon that leads straight to the vendor. There's no person manning it, its just a table with a shield on it.

Just crafted a badass set of Battlemage armor with arms and legs too. It looks awesome as well.

Apparently the best schematics for weapons are in Emprise du Lion, though I haven't found that vendor yet.

What do you mean there's no one manning the shop? That adorably, bad*ss mabari is totally holding things down. (It even says so on the note.)

Thanks for the info, though. I've already bought pretty much everything, as sad as that is.

Also, I literally just finished all the sidequests. I haven't found all the pieces for those gold dwarven pictures, but everything else is done. It's worth noting that if you collect shards, even if you don't have all of them, you can go to the Solosan (sp?) temple in the Forbidden Oasis and open doors. You have to have a specified amount to get through each one, but they each have a tomb that gives you either fire, cold, spirit or electricity resistance. I found all of the shards and went through the whole shebang, so I'm feeling pretty good about kicking some Elder One butt now.

Okay, if you haven't finished the main story, stop reading. I'm spoiling **** because I need to.

So, I'm pretty sure that either my game import was glitched or I fucked up my choices somehow. My Warden romanced Morrigan, they had an old God baby and he went through the Eluvian with her. In DAI, she mentions the warden as her love, says their son misses him greatly and that he's off trying to find a way to stop The Calling. That was awesome and I thought that was all there was, but I never saw the kid and thought that was really weird. It wasn't until I beat the game and was reading up on other people's choices that I realized everyone else seemed to get one or two scenes with the kid, but for some reason he never showed up in my game. Before I made the Well of Sorrows decision, I spoiled myself a little on accident, but I knew going into that decision that regardless if you drank or Morrigan drank, Flemeth comes to steal the old God baby's soul. I made my Inquisitor drink, however, when we finally met with Flemeth, we had a nice chat, she told Morrigan she was never in any danger from her, summoned the guardian dragon for us to fight and master and then left. Morrigan' child was never even mentioned. Morrigan never turned into a dragon. Pretty much nothing I was expecting happened.

Sooo... I'm just wondering how things turned out for you and if I maybe screwed something up or just got a really rare outcome.

Also, that post-credits scene! Wtf!

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Meg, I saw the Warden's kid throughout. He stands with Morrigan in the garden all the time, but he only has a few scenes where he speaks or interacts. So I don't know, maybe it's a glitch of some sort.

Also, Morrigan must drink from the Well in order for Flemeth to come and take the Old God soul from Kieran. Instead of the guardian dragon and that convo with Flemeth, when you return to Skyhold from the Arbor Wilds, Morrigan chases after Kieran after he goes through the Eluvian. You go after Morrigan, and somehow the Eluvian led to the Fade. You eventually catch up with Kieran, who is speaking with Flemeth. Flemeth informs Morrigan that she now inherits her dragon shape-shifting ability since she drank from the Well. When the convo between Inquisitor, Flemeth, and Morrigan wraps up, Flemeth takes the Old God soul from Kieran and states that Morrigan was never in any danger from her. This scene was great because Morrigan shows her super soft motherly side. Much different from how we're used to her from Origins.

It's weird though, in the post-game slideshow, Morrigan is supposed to be walking away from Skyhold with Kieran but Kieran didn't show in the picture. I feel that is a bug as well.

And yeah, that epilogue! Who possessed who? It's not entirely clear. We should speak of the epilogue in an Xbox Live party or something soon. I feel like discussing it here, even with spoiler tags, would be too much.

*SPOILERS*

I don't think anyone possessed anyone in the epilogue. Whether or not Solas is an elf with the spirit of the Dread Wolf living in him like Flemeth and whatshername or if he is literally just the dread wolf, is anyone's guess. I have no freaking clue what's going on. Even less so than normal with DA games.

*END SPOILERS*

Oddly enough, playing through this game made me really want a new ME game. Or a new Bioware IP on the same level as DA or ME (that isn't a freaking MMO).

Also, I just played the first chapter of Tales of the Borderlands and it was so, so good. I totally loved it. It had so many parts that made me laugh out loud. I highly recommend it.

I've bought and downloaded the first episode of Tales, just have to put down Dragon Age and play it. And Game of Thrones Episode 1 comes out tomorrow as well. Whew.

Anyway, *SPOILERS*

Well if you watch the scene again, Flemeth's essence leaves her body and goes into Solas. Flemeth's body goes dark and lifeless, and Solas's eyes glow. Based on what we know of Flemeth (also Mythal) and Fen-Harel/Dread Wolf/Solas...

Flemeth/Mythal prolonged her life by possessing the bodies of her daughters. As she reveals though, it is not forced upon the unwilling, which is why Morrigan was safe from Flemeth. However we do not know if Flemeth could do this to someone who isn't her daughter. Solas/Dread-Wolf, in the epilogue, seemed willing to "repent" or submit to Mythal/Flemeth. We also know, in some legends, Mythal was tricked by the Dread-Wolf. Could Flemeth have possessed Solas AND Dread-Wolf to extend her life and also get revenge for Mythal and become more powerful? Don't forget, Flemeth also carries the soul of the Old God once carried by Kieran, which is also now one with Solas's host body.

The other outcome is that Solas/Dread-Wolf absorbed the soul of Flemeth, Mythal, and the Old God. Reasons for this being are the fact that the Dread-Wolf was known to be a trickster. The Dread Wolf also preyed upon spirits and consumed them, either to become more powerful or for his own pleasure. And let's not forget the history the Dread-Wolf has with Mythal. That and Solas had originally given the Elven orb to The Elder One because Solas was not powerful enough to unlock it's potential. Could Solas/Dread-Wolf have absorbed Flemeth/Mythal/Old God soul to become more powerful, and there's another orb somewhere? Solas also tells the Inquisitor, before he leaves, "No matter what happens, know that I deeply respect you." Perhaps the Dread-Wolf has more sinister intentions, but also has great respect for the Inquisitor.

So yeah, a huge question that needs answering right there.

*SPOILERS*

It's so hard for me to speculate because I'm basically missing super important parts of the game. Does Flemeth always get the OGB soul? What if Kieran is just a normal boy and not an OGB? Bc my glitched playthrough is closest to that, I guess.

And didn't we learn that the history that Thedas "knows" regarding the Dread Wolf is actually not the truth? I forgot what the truth was, but it seemed like he was a lot less ominous than history made him out to be. He was also featured prominently in Mythal's temple so there has to be some significance to that.

I'm also not very happy that Solas has the power to control my Inquisitor now if he really did absorb Mythal. And how fucked up is the ending for people who romanced him? Holy sh*t. So glad he was never appealing to me in the least bit.

*SPOILERS*

Yeah, Flemeth only gets the OG soul if Kieran was born of the Dark Ritual AND Morrigan drank from the Well. To my knowledge.

As for the Dread Wolf, yes, those at the Temple of Mythal say that the legends told in Thedas weren't entirely true. There could, however, still be some truth to them.

The bottom line is the fact that we don't know who is primarily in control of Solas's body and all those souls: Flemeth/Mythal, or the Dread Wolf?

*END SPOILERS*

Also I have killed 7/10 high dragons. All 3 in Emprise du Lion are dead (in a row) and the Exalted Plains dragon is dead. All that remains is the Storm Coast dragon, Emerald Graves, and Hissing Wastes.
