I started to watch Peaky Blinders, as the name sounded silly and I wanted to see what it was about, also Cillian Murphy is awesome. But then I realized that House of Cards was gonna release like, fifteen minutes from when I started watching...so I kinda quit. However, I should probably get back into it.
Also, Bloodborne. Nobody cares about it, but I'm super psyched.

I might try it. As long as the atmosphere is as good as the first Dark Souls or Demons Souls.

From what I've seen from Alpha gameplay it's got atmosphere in spades. I'd say it's even more atmospheric Demons and Dark Souls. But then again I really like the Victorian London look of the game, and I realize I'm riding the hype train pretty hardcore right about now, but still. Also the emphasis on being proactive in combat, as opposed to the other game's reactive nature looks like it might be a breath of fresh air.

Also, I'm looking forward to Bloodborne, but I barely know anything about the game. It's set in one of my favorite time period/location combos though so that's all I need to know.

It took a bit for me to get into House of Cards, and if you can make it past the political bits, it's pretty enjoyable. I'm not one for politics either, but I find it pretty interesting. Side note: I'm a few episodes in to season 2 of Peaky Blinders. I have a problem, I think.
Regarding Bloodborne, it's probably gonna be hard as hell, just so you know what you're getting into.

As for Peaky Blinders, I marathoned both seasons in 2 or 3 days. Cillian Murphy is so freaking good in that series. I just hate that I have to wait for season 3 now.

Pretty excited for Bloodborne as well, you are not the only one Odin lol. I should be getting a PS4 soon actually, one of my friends who works for Geek Squad at our store is selling his Glacier PS4 for $350 and he's throwing in Destiny and his PS+ account, which has Dragon Age and a few other digital games registered on it. Pretty awesome deal if you ask me lol.
Yeah Meg I think you'll love Bloodborne. If you want, try getting Dark Souls 1 on 360 or something so you can get used to the mechanics and controls of the game. I'm sure Bloodborne will be somewhat different, but the Souls series all have a similar way of playing, it might help you out. They're incredibly difficult, yes, but once you know enemy attack patterns, enemy placement, level design, boss patterns, it all becomes a lot easier. It's an incredibly rewarding system.
Also, kind of excited for The Handsome Collection. Idk about anyone else but 60fps and 1080p is exactly what I need, especially since Pre-Sequel seemed kind of sluggish. I'll be getting it for XB1 though, in case you guys are thinking of getting it too and need co-op partners. Also, to do save transfers, you need your old-gen copies handy, so don't trade them in.

I'm thinking of getting the Handsome Collection just because I never finished the presequel and I'd really like to. Especially since the second episode of Tales from the Borderlands had Athena in it and I was definitely missing a piece of the puzzle. I probably won't pick it up right away, but when I do, it'll definitely be on Xbox one.
As for other new releases, Battlefield Hardline has really caught my eye. The Call of Duty type games lost my interest back in the 360 days, but for some reason, the whole cop thing seems a lot more fun. If anyone has played it, i'd love to hear your thoughts/opinions on it.

And yeah I'm pretty stoked about the PS4 deal. The digital games he has on his PS+ account are Dragon Age and Injustice, which is awesome. And I'm going to trade in my Galaxy S4 and get $70 for it and put that toward Bloodborne or something.
As for Hardline, I played the Beta when that was out, and it was a lot of fun. Of course the mainstay with that is multiplayer, and the game does a great job of offering the large-scale game modes as well as small to medium scale. Hotwire is also a must-play gamemode, its so much fun.

Hardline's SP is passable, if not really latching on and making you finish it. But there are some fun MP modes. Really liking rescue.
Also, just pre-ordered Bloodbourn with my new PS4 gold headsets. Had some gift cards left over and really need a new headset for my sony equipment and saw that in the "you might like" section. Just hoping for more Demon or DS1 than DS2 in terms of atmosphere/play. Atmosphere looks sick so far though so that is a plus.

BTW anybody got some "must have" recommendations for PS4? I'd like to hear what you guys think about that.

I HAVE CO-OP BUDDIES!!!!
*Ahem* I don't really have much in the way of must-have suggestions for PS4, though if you can rent it or get it on the cheap, MGS Ground Zeroes is both fun to play and freaking amazing looking. None of the big exclusives have come out yet, or if they have I've totally forgotten about them...

I just finished Battlefield Hardline's single player and surprisingly loved it. I don't know if it was because you could be stealthy throughout 90% of the game or if I just liked feeling like I was actually living in The Wire, but I really enjoyed it. Not that it's surprising for a battlefield game, but the graphics were stunning as well. I think I just liked it because it wasn't another freaking war game.
Now I just need to find something to do until Bloodbourne comes out...

Speaking of which, just a heads up and a tip: the gun you wield is used as a parry tool. Shoot an enemy as they are swinging at you to stun them and riposte. Be careful though, some enemies can recover from this stunned state quickly and counterattack, to your surprise and probably death.

Yeah, it's not really an effective weapon, unless it's the pistol, and you're using it to shoot the first boss in his face. Then it stuns the crap out of him and you can get a critical hit in on him.

How's the game so far for those of you who've started it? It sounds like I'll need to spend the next few weeks watching tutorials for the first level.

It's definitely a tough game, but it's manageable. Health items are actually pretty plentiful and overall the controls are more responsive than previous souls games, which is saying alot. I'm dying more than I thought I would, but I suppose I need to shake the rust off.

Anyhow I'm loving it so far. I've only died once, aside from the mandatory first death, but it's got plenty of difficult moments. Gameplay is fast and smooth, and the level design is more Dark Souls than Dark Souls 2, in that you'll want to take your time and explore and find shortcuts, secret areas, etc.
Loving it so far.

@badger: The local stores might have it, but I had a couple hundred bucks in Amazon credit so I was trying to use that and save my money. Besides, after some forum reading and an email from Amazon, it looks like Bloodborne will be here tomorrow or the next day so I can wait. That'll give me some quality time with the Handsome Collection, the new Dragon Age DLC (which came out of nowhere) and the newest Life is Strange episode. I think I'll live.
I'm glad to hear it's living up to expectations though! I can't wait to get my hands on it. Have you guys tried co-op yet?
