You get the resonating bell (the one that puts you out there for co-oping) by gathering 10 insight (co-op currency, so to speak. Like Humanity from Dark Souls) and buying it at the Hunter's Dream. You get the Lulling bell (the one that lets you summon dudes for co-oping) by encountering a boss for the first time, you can pick it up next to the strange doll in the hunter's dream.

 

As for the difficulty? The only thing that comes close to easy mode is co-oping. At least, that's what it was like in the others. It's not too bad once you get used to it, I was playing a lot of Skyrim and Tropico 5 so my reflexes were a little dulled, lol. But once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. Nerve-wracking, but fun.

 

EDIT: I did some maths. You get one insight for encountering a boss for the first time and three for actually defeating them. In my travels I've found two items that give you insight, so you'll need to defeat two bosses solo before you can get the resonating bell.

And lol did you say easy difficulty? There is no difficulty setting in Bloodborne or any of the Souls games hahaha haha heehee ho ho. Sorry. Lol

Luckily, the Souls community is pretty good, and I assume most of them transferred over to Bloodbourne, so finding people to co-op with should be easy. Also, we're here. And I got the co-op item tonight.

My copy gets here tomorrow... seems nearly my whole, but short PS4 friends list will have it.  As for exclusives Badger... I fully recommend Infamous Second Son. 

 

Also got my Gold headset in and am dying for this thing to charge to tinker with it.  Also, I want Persona 5 to get here.  And for FFX remastered to tempt me from a 3rd buy. I already got it for the PS3 and VIta damn it

Same... playing through 3 FES and Golden again to get ready.  Well, not right now.  Too busy dying and and going to Hunter's Dream.  Man, playing through the headset and the sound is haunting for this game.

Hey guys you should check out Helldivers (Playstation) It's pretty good and has four player co-op.

 

Also my local game store is having a sale so I will be upgrading my copy of GTA V to Xbox One next week if anyone is up for some heists? Speaking of upgrading my copy of GTA V how does the transfer work? I heard it has something to do with the Rockstar Social Club so will I be able to transfer both my characters or only one?

Just a heads up, don't do co-op in the Forbidden Woods. Apparently summoning people or putting yourself out there to be summoned causes a critical item to go missing and you can't progress.

Also, fight the Blood-starved beast before Vicar Amelia.

Well, I probably won't have to worry about that, Badger. By the time I beat the first boss they'll probably have patched that and every other bug in the game. Lol

These bosses are freaking... big. And creepy!

Lol don't worry Meg, one of us can help you out with the Cleric Beast. The bosses are all pretty varied though, not all will be gigantic. Did you make sure you found the shortcut back to the Central Yharnam lantern?

Hey guys, just a heads up, when the Blood-starved beast is defeated, the group of crows directly outside the Cathedral Ward lantern will now be a new enemy, called a Snatcher. It is very powerful, and, if it kills you, you will be taken to a new area and placed in a prison cell and need to escape the area. It's called Yahar'gul, or something like that. Haven't progressed further beyond my cell, but that's where I'm at right now

I would be worried about that, but we all know I can't kill a boss on my own so I doubt I'll have to worry about that anytime soon.

Oh, and is it true that after you kill the 5th or 6th boss, you can go to some special place and talk to the clock tower hunter and make an agreement so he won't shoot you anymore? Because I can't freaking kill that guy, and if it's true, I'd rather get an item from him.

I've heard you can talk to him if you enter the area for the first time with the Black Priest robes equipped, but I haven't tested it.

It goes like this: You kill Darkbeast Paarl and go back to Old Yharnamand and approach him from behind - don't go the normal route, take the shortcut we took when we fought the boss there - and he'll ally with you. Probably as a co-op summon.

Yeah, this is what I'd heard. I'd also read that after killing the Blood Starved Beast, if you teleport to the Church and then go back to the Hunter without him seeing you, the same conversation will occur, but I tested that out last night and it definitely doesn't work. I just got pushed off the roof instead.

Well co-op is now fixed for the Forbidden Woods, with the new update that released today. Also an item dupe bug was fixed.

Vicar Amelia and the Witch of Hemwick are both defeated! Pretty proud. Beat Amelia with just one other person and I soloed the Witch, although the Witch isn't all that hard.

I think Darkbeast Paarl is next.

I just beat the Witch solo on my first try so... I'm pretty sure he/she/it is the easiest thing in the game. Especially considering I just stumbled in there totally not prepared for a boss fight. Kinda made me feel good though. Which is the first time I can say that about this game. lol

Been looking into a possible good build to go with on a new character. Seems that Bloodtinge and Skill is pretty good, considering if you get the Chikage and Evelyn you'll pretty much win at everything. Chikage gets S Bloodtinge scaling at +10 (A +5-9) and Evelyn gets A or S scaling in Bloodtinge. Chikage will do bloodtinge damage if you transform it to two handed mode, this will however slowly drain your hp.
