I'm  sauteed donions with Assassin's Creed. I think they peaked with Black Flag and won't be able to recapture the series former glory.

I'm getting there... and like Meg, Ubisoft's attitude toward women in their games is pissing me off and doing far more to make me question buying into more games.  I'll give Syndicate a try... maybe... but I think they need to give the franchise some breathing room.  Let it be an extra year or two before the next game.

It's just that all their games are getting stale, to me. I mean, didn't even want to finish FC 4 because it felt like I'd seen everything the game had to offer...when I played FC 3. Watch Dogs felt like a shitty GTA/Assassin's Creed clone, and as I've said many times, AC has worn out it's welcome, at least in my eyes. That, and the whole mishandling female characters thing.

Konami is dead to me.  Apparently they want to focus mostly, if not entirely on mobile gaming.  Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh, no.  No wonder Kojima left and the guy behind Castlevania is killing it on kickstarter......

I couldn't agree with this more. Watch Dogs had so much promise, but ended up being a big pile of "meh". Not to mention, it was yet another game where an otherwise awesome female character was railroaded into a damsel in distress role and eventually *SPOILER* killed. I forced myself to finish it. And Far Cry 4 was so boring in my opinion because I've climbed towers and killed animals and raided bases in at least 7 games just in the past 12 months.

I can't wait for "open world" to mean something other than random fetch quests, climbable view points that open up the map, tons of pointless collectibles that aren't related to the story, etc. I really hope Mad Max or The Division bring a fresh take to the concept, but at this point, I'm not holding my breath. Hearing that a game was open world used to be exciting. Now hearing that just immediately exhausts and stresses me out. And I lose a lot of interest in the game itself.

I enjoyed the co op in Far Cry 4.  So that game gets a pass from me :P

I couldn't bring myself to finish Watchdogs though... there is potential to the game, but when I learned of that spoiler I lost all interest.  Ubisoft really needs to hire some people that know how to write at this point.

Wow. The Witcher 3 is an absolutely gorgeous game. It kind of makes DAI look like garbage in comparison. So far the gameplay is a lotttt easier to pick up than Witcher 2 and I'm loving the story/dialogue/gameplay.

However, for anyone who is playing it on Xbox One, be careful about leaving the game running in the background and putting your Xbox into suspend mode. I got a major bug where it wouldn't let me save after I turned it back on and it wasn't auto saving or anything either. Apparently a lot of other people have run into the same issue too. I'd recommend saving before you quit, going to the Xbox home screen and manually closing the game and then turning off your Xbox. At least until they release a patch to fix this or something. Luckily I noticed this bug quick because I save compulsively every 2 seconds, but some people lost hours of gameplay.

Other than that totally avoidable/fixable issue though, I super recommend this game!

Hey now, Dragon Age is very pretty lol. You know, I actually think the environments in Dragon Age look a lot better, if only for the striking variety between them. Emerald Graves, Storm Coast, Emprise du Lion, etc. So much color and beauty there. Not that TW3 environments are bad, they look amazing as well, but not as much variety as far as I can tell.

But anyway I agree. Much much easier to get into than TW2 and so far it's great. Also choice has a larger role. And Geralt actually has a few different women he can romance this time around, versus just Triss plus whatever brief fling from TW2.

Get this game!!!

Also if anyone cares, House of Wolves for Destiny is a great DLC and a huge step in the right direction in terms of how the game should play. Also the story for it is actually good! And the characters are cool! Go figure.

I don't think DAI is ugly. Calling it garbage was more of my exaggerated response to the Witcher 3 than actual clear-headed comparison. However, even though Inquisition may have more varied environments, I feel like the Witcher's actual rendering and the graphics themselves easily beat out DAI. Things look smoother and less blocky or flat. Characters look like they walked straight out of a CG cutscene. Their beards are actually attached to their face (not to mention they grow over time). The lip syncing is also suuuuper well done. And the hair... I've been waiting for hair to look this good in games for years.

And did I mention how much I love that each of the sidequests is as rich and full as any of the main quests? Full cutscenes, interesting stories, and fun gameplay that deviates from the norm of just different tiers of fetch quests. I seriously don't know how CDPR pulled this off, but they deserve major props for it.

I know you were exaggerating lol, and I was teasing. Agreed though on all points.

Also not that I've tried this but have read about it, do NOT romance Yennefer and Triss at the same time. Anyone else should be fair game.

You listening, BioWare?

I have to play through W2 again first before getting to W3... though I need to make sure i don't let the hype get overblown to the point I am let down by the game in the end.

Bad you! *slaps your face again* lol how have you been Guardian?

Also I feel like there's never ending things to do in The Witcher 3. Holy sh*t. All of it sooooo enjoyable though. And make sure you guys grab Witcher gear sets, the best in the game! Cat set, Griffin set, or Ursine set.

Hey Guardian! How goes it?

As for the Witcher, I highly recommend putting off Triss' sidequests until after you've progressed in the main story and spent some time with Yennefer. Otherwise, you'll miss out on some extra sidequest opportunities you find during other sidequests. You'll also be forced to choose between romancing Triss and Yennefer before you've even spent more than 1 minute with Yennefer. I made that mistake, loved Triss from the last game and figured I wouldn't change my mind anyway or that I wouldn't cement my decision until later in the game, but nope. The minute Geralt reunited with Yennefer I wanted to change my decision and ended up going back to a former save and losing 20 hours of side quests just to fix things. They should have labeled the Triss quest as being a higher level so people (like me) who like to complete as many sidequests as possible before the main story don't complete it too early.

Anyway, that's the only irritating thing I've come across. I expected getting back to where I was in the story to be a chore, but I've actually encountered different events and stuff and noticed things in quests that I didn't before so it's actually not been bad. I just wanted to warn you guys so you didn't end up in a similarly frustrating position.

What exactly are these other sidequest opportunities? Because I've heard of none, and as far as I'm aware the Triss stuff should be done before heading to Skellige.

Regardless I wanted to romance Yen this playthrough. So far, not disappointed, at all. Not to mention Yen and Geralt have tons of funny moments together. Not gonna lie though, not romancing Triss was a struggle.

I know that you can find at least two statues that initiate other sidequests involving Triss. She at least has to be around for you to ask her about them in order to start them. I know you get one during Zoltan'd sidequest. I can't remember where I found the other.

And no, you don't have to do Triss' sidequest before you go to Skellige. I'm at Skellige with Yen in my playthrough right now and Triss' quest is still available. I don't think you can finish the main story on Skellige because I'm sure that initiates a new chapter of the story, but I haven't gotten that far so I can't say for sure when you get locked out of Triss' and other Act 2 quests.

I know that you'll be okay, or at least I think you will be, in progressing through the main Skellige stuff. There isn't much, which makes me think you go back there, but you'll get a quest called "Ugly Baby" and that is where you may fail some quests if you progress that.

Everyone's over here talking about The Witcher 3 and I'm just sitting here freaking out about the impending Fallout 4 reveal, Dark Souls 3 (with 100% more Miyazaki than DS2) and XCOM 2...

Ever since I heard Bethesda will have a booth at E3 this year, I've literally caught myself daydreaming about Fallout 4 about once a day. Now that there's an official countdown, I'm pretty sure I'm having heart palpitations.

My body is ready.

Edit: Just watched the trailer. Dogmeat (or at least a dog), lots of color, next-gen only and possibly a voiced protagonist? The wait for this game is going to be torture.

10 out of 10 Kanji's agree, characters are better when voiced by Troy Baker.

Now, all we need is for the female protagonist to be voiced by Laura Bailey and we'll be golden.

Unless like...Troy Baker is really versatile as an actor.

I think I'd be pretty okay with a Troy Baker voiced female protagonist.
