Finished The Descent. I won't spoil anything, but I didn't love it. It was alright. There was a reveal of something that might be important in the future, which was cool, but I don't feel like the DLC should be $15. It only took me two or three hours to complete. And that's with most of the side stuff, which there wasn't a lot of. The thing that disappointed me most though was the fact that even though you were able to bring 3 companions along, I think they each only said about 4 lines the whole time and they were very shoehorned in. I totally get that it's probably quite expensive to get all of those actors back to record and it's also probably hard to schedule them all in, but with them just being silent companions, it just isn't as interesting. At least not to me. I would prefer to have just one or two larger DLCs that included all the companions as part of the adventure as opposed to a bunch of shorter ones where they don't contribute much of anything. I had really hoped Bioware would have realized the companions were so key to the story after The Citadel DLC was received so much better by their fans, but I guess not.

About to play that on my Nightmare run so I can say more later, but I'm guessing that it is a set up DLC for later DLC (which seems to be under dev by the main team) and the next game.  15 was a little much, but I'm an addict and I need my DA fix sooooo.  Yeah.

The moment they reveal the next DA game I'll probably start twitching in impatience.

I heard that Descent wasn't that good, which makes me sad, but if it seems like it'll be important to the story, I'll have to pick it up, because apparently just about anything in any DLC can be super important. I remember when I told my friend that he could skip the Legacy DLC for DA 2 because it probably wasn't going to be super important in the grand scheme of things....whoops.

Anyway. I just bought the first episode of King's Quest, so I'm looking forward to that.

I KNOW, RIGHT?!

I was playing Dungeons and Dragons with my buddies and kept making puns the whole time. They're really quite infectious.

I loved all the pun scenes with those two...

And I finally got through the Descent DLC on Nightmare (that was... harrowing): I loved it.  The story and lore were nice additions, and the art/craftmanship of the environments were stunning.  So far DA:I is really surprising on releasing such amazing DLC add ons.  Can't wait to see where the little hints will end up in the next game.

And seriously, what is going on in Thedas for all this to start happening at once?!

So, I bought Until Dawn on a whim and have literally been playing it most of the day. It's like Heavy Rain meets Cabin in the Woods. I love it, personally. There are tons of jump scares, which I normally hate, but its actually kind of fun in this game. I think because the game itself is so self-aware.

Anyway, I'm not sure if you guys would be into it, but I would at least check out a gameplay vid or something.

Also, if you haven't seen the show Mr. Robot, you should go marathon it right now. It's amazing.

...You're playing a mage, right? If so, I see what you did there.

Edit: Until Dawn looks...interesting. Horror really isn't my thing so I'll have to track down a let's play of it or something.

 I did nothing!

And I was going to get Until Dawn... but saw it did not let you invert the Y axis and decided to get Dying Light instead.  I will get it once patched, but it made it easy not to spend the money on it.

Saw a youtube video for the DA:I Trespasser DLC............. wantwantwantwant.  And it looks to be coming soon!  Damn it.. just finished my nightmare run to platinum the game.  O well... time for my dwarf rogue that will romance Josie!  No I do not have an addiction.  I'm perfectly fine.  No interventions required.

There's so much DLC for DA: I that I don't have that at this point, I'm afraid to buy it, lol.

Also, I looked at a let's play of Until Dawn...I had no idea what kind of game it was, in fact, it just kind of appeared and people started talking about how scary it is. It looks like Heavy Rain, which I like, also the inclusion of Brett Dalton kind and Hayden Pani....Hayden Panite....Hayden Panerabread, that's her name now. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with the game and am probably gonna have to check it out sooner or later.

@Kab: It does look really good! I'm afraid though because it seems like it might be the last dlc. I know Dragon Age games are always more about the world as the main character and that's why there's a new protagonist in every game, but I'm really hoping we get to continue our Inquisitor's story in the next game. Or even an expansion.

@Odin: That's literally how I got interested in Until Dawn. I had seen little bits of it at E3 last year, but it seemed too stressful/scary for me (especially considering I never finished The Evil Within and Alien Isolation for those exact reasons despite really liking them). But after watching The Rad Brad play through the first hour or so, I decided to just go for it and I ended up beating it within a couple of days. It's definitely not a game for everyone, but I loved it. I haven't gotten so into a game since Wolfenstein. The graphics are freaking astounding. The voice acting is really great. And Panerabread lol. Yes, Dalton and Panerabread are amazing in this game. There are a couple of other pretty well-known actors as well, but all of the voice acting is top notch. I really don't know why Sony didn't promote this game at all, but hopefully it does decently despite that.

Well, if it's got your seal of approval, I'll have to check it out. I've got it on my Gamefly queue, just got to wait for them to get the copy of Dark Souls 2: Sins of the First Scholar I had back. Probably the only Souls game I didn't bother to beat...it's not as good as DS 2, which in and of itself isn't a very good Souls game...

It is the last of the DA:I DLC.  It's basically the epilogue.  Just can't believe it is only a week's wait away.

Yeah I'm sad it's the last DLC, but I guess all good things must come to an end. But I guess that means the new Mass Effect game is almost upon us. So, silver linings? Besides that though the Tresspasser looks great.

Passing on Until Dawn, it looks interesting but I've got too much to play right now, especially with Forza 6 coming out soon and I'm going to be a guinea pig on The Taken King, so...

Oh and I've got Gears Ultimate, so I have to continue that. Also running through Dying Light with Kab when we get the chance.

@Odin: yeah, agreed on Dark Souls 2. One of my buddies loves it and keeps asking me to play and I'm just like, dude, DS2 sucks, just stop lol. I'll play Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne all day, but DS2 is just...not good, at all. Too difficult and unfair, level design sucks, enemy design sucks, Estus got ruined, etc etc.

Kinda glad I never picked up DS2 now. When there was a lack of new games over the summer, I seriously debated it, but in the end, I knew I would never get through it all by myself lol.

And I totally get waiting on Until Dawn. Especially if you're buying it since it does only take somewhere around 12 hours to beat. It took me closer to 20, I think, but that's mostly because I was trying to find every little collectible that I could.

I started MGSV last night and even though I've only played two other games in the series, I'm really enjoying it so far. (Totally had to spend a good hour reading up on the heavy history in the games though.) Then again, I mostly bought it because I couldn't turn down the prospect of finding a wolf puppy and turning him into my bad@ss combat buddy.

Is anyone getting Mad Max by any chance? It looked interesting at E3, but the more I see of it, the more it just looks kinda meh.

Wait... wolf puppy.... damn it now I have to get it!  Well, I was eventually anyway, was just a bit nervous since I felt the MGS series ended well years ago :P

@Meg: Yeah DS2 was a huge disappointment. Get DS1 if you can, its so much better. It has the Miyazaki design touch, same as Bloodborne.

I might rent Until Dawn in that case, not sure I'd want to spend a whopping $60 on it.

As for MGSV, I'm trying to get into Ground Zeroes still. Haven't played a MGS game before, so it's a lot to take in. The systems aren't explained well at all, so I'm trying to get used to it and get good at it.

As for Mad Max, I might try to rent it. From what I've seen online, anyone who is a Mad Max fan will love the game. Or if youre a post-apocalyptic genre fan.

From what I've seen, this MGS is different in many ways from prior installments.  But then, being open world it would have to be.

Stealing sheep has never been more fun. I can't wait until I get the Cargo Fulton device so I can steel APC's an' ****.

I also want my wolf puppy.

I randomly found him, but now I keep going back to mother base compulsively just to see his cute puppy body. Because, you know... It's not like I have a dog in real life. Or work at a freaking animal shelter.

But dude. When did Metal Gear get so freaking scary?? I'm on the verge of having a panic attack every time those things that look like Mass Effect's husks show up. I also just realized that husks on current gen consoles would have been even scarier than they were already.

I just got my little killing machine, he appears randomly, but you apparently can get him at the start of mission 4, where the chopper drops you off. Also, the Skull Squad are freaking terrifying, and while MGS usually has some supernatural/strange aspects, they take the damned cake.

Got the pup pretty quick, and full bond level as well.  Working on Quiet now, though her lack of mobility right now is frustrating.

Feeling a bit disconnected from the story though.  Not sure if it is the over reliance on the tapes to give a lot of it or the overall design of the mission system.  Almost feels like a portable game design in that regard.

Quiet takes some getting used to, however it's really nice that she can scout out bases before you get there, also once you upgrade her to the point where you can equip her with a tranq rifle, she becomes super handy. Also, there's no risk of her getting accidentally blow'd the fuck up, unlike D.D. Though, don't get me wrong, D.D is my boy, and he's great for infiltrating bases, as he can sniff out prisoners and guys in buildings, which Quiet seems to miss sometimes.

But, y'know...boobs.

I accidentally hit DD with a truck because he suddenly decided to run out in front of it.... I felt terrible.
