I cancelled my pre-order of the 3DS version. I played the demo and hated the controls, so I decided to just wait for the Wii U version. I'm pretty sure I was going to ditch the 3DS version once the Wii U version came out, anyway.
But based on the demo and the many videos I've seen, it does look like it's a lot easier to rack up damage. Haven't decided how I feel about that yet.

I'd have to say, the controls do really suck. Big time. I can't shield and dodge easily 'cause the should buttons aren't reachable for me. Also, for those who play nonstop it's really gonna screw your buttons. I know we went through several controllers with melee. Can't imagine screwing the 3ds buttons like that.
I'm pretty sick of the percentage change. I feel like there's no weight classes anymore. At least this game's got life to it. Brawl felt totally void of any heart.

You can't get rid of the filter as far as I know.
I figured they were just making megas of everybody eventually. He looks pretty lame too.
You know, I don't think I ever trained a beedrill. Butterfree for me.

Yeah, that's another reason I cancelled my pre-order. There were a lot of reports of people breaking their 3DS in Japan, and I have a history of wearing down my gamecube controllers playing smash. A gamecube controller is more durable and only costs $20 to replace. A 3DS XL has a lot of natural weakspots (hinges), isn't built for this kind of gaming, and costs $200 to replace.
Honestly, I thought it was a bad idea to make a 3DS version from the start. It took time and resources that could have gone towards making the Wii U version better. And thanks to the limitations of the 3DS, we lost the Ice Climbers. When they announced that the 3DS version was going to be released first, I figured I'd get it to tide me over for the Wii U release (knowing that that's probably the reason Nintendo gave them separate release dates, but willing to buy it anyway), but the controls are so awkward that I decided it wasn't worth the risk of damaging my 3DS. I can wait another couple months.
Also, I never really raised a Beedrill beyond getting it to evolve for the pokedex entry. I prefer Venomoth.

I prefer Butterfree, considering it is my favourite pokémon of all time, and if i can it'll always be on my team.
