(this post is updated when new information is discovered by others, or myself)

So while the old forums were under maintenance, I went back to watch the game play demo for fun and a means to cope with info withdraw:

I started to notice a few hidden things not mentioned on the forums, or at least not looked at in great detail. I took some screen shots. I apologize for any blurriness, it was hard to get a clear picture by pausing the video.

So sit back and enjoy this dissection of the Inquisition game play demo!

Let's start out with something big to sink your teeth in shall we?

How about some interesting things I noticed about the good ol' Red Templars?

First off:
-some of them, or at least the archers, have hoods instead of helmets

tumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo8_250.png

-Also, notice that symbol on his chest? That's no Templar symbol ladies and gents! In fact, it's a symbol recovered from all the way back in the Dragon Age: Origins files:

tumblr_n1jhnsVcoC1sjnh4bo2_500.png

 (labeled cross)

-This means they either decided to use this symbol at a later date, or having been planning the Red Templars from the start!

some other fun red Templar facts:

-They use red lyrum bows
tumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo3_250.pngtumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo4_400.png

-They have some sort of red lyrum shooting ability
tumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo5_1280.png

-They still use the old templar logo for their ships
tumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo6_500.png

-they brought red lyrium supplies with them.
tumblr_n1m7mnMrlX1sjnh4bo1_1280.png

Now let's get to a few fun inquisition items I noticed:

-you have rouges at your command
tumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo9_1280.png

-At first I was like "DAT ASS" then I noticed the inquisitor carries around a scroll with him/her
tumblr_n1jhjkQcCc1sjnh4bo10_100.png

-You have working servants, or soldiers who also get their hands dirty
tumblr_n1jhleECrb1sjnh4bo2_1280.png

-you also have individuals who supervise (as shown by the circled person above)

tumblr_n1jhleECrb1sjnh4bo1_250.png

-There is a commanding officer at your command by the name of Thamond.
tumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo3_250.png

-There seems to be buildings behind the keep
tumblr_n1m7mnMrlX1sjnh4bo4_400.png

Not that we can tell all TOO much from them, I also took some screen shots of ability icons:

-varric
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo2_250.png

-Vivienne
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo3_100.png
The ability on the left is an ice wall, and the right is the FIRE BALLS OF DOOOOOOOOM.

tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo4_250.png
She uses the ability to the right to teleport of rush a short distance. The ability in the top center is used to weaken an enemy mage.

-Cassandra
tumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo2_250.png

tumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo1_250.png
One of these abilities is used to break open the gate to the enemy keep.

-Inquisitor
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo6_100.png

Now let's examine the command wheel:

-Cassandra
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo7_400.png
A rock armor potion, elf root potion, and a fire resistance potion.

-Varric
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo8_400.png

-Inquisitor
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo9_400.png
The red potion on the bottom left is the Antivan Fire used to torch the Templar boats.

-Vivienne
tumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo9_400.png

Here's a close up look at certain enemy names:

tumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo5_400.pngtumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo6_500.png

The general map area the game will cover:
tumblr_n1jhknKN7e1sjnh4bo5_1280.png

The symbol on the flag near the docks is the same as the one on the flags in the trailer with the qunari (possibly iron bull).
tumblr_n1l34kTDYn1sjnh4bo2_250.pngtumblr_n1lfzlTVVy1sjnh4bo1_1280.png

This could mean that the crestwood keep was captured from qunari mercenaries.

Last but not least, the cave we walk past after we salvage the crestwood keep belongs to Raiders, according to the sign outside:

tumblr_n1jhi1h6ax1sjnh4bo10_500.pngtumblr_n1jhnsVcoC1sjnh4bo1_500.png
(Raider symbol from DA2 files)

If you notice anything I missed form the video, please feel free to post it on this thread.

Items from the Fires Above trailer, and Game Informer videos are also allowed to be posted on this thread.

Future videos will have different threads, as this post has reached the picture limit.

Cool post!

I think the cross from the Red templars , was also on one of the ring the Inquisitor is wearing on the promo stuff.

The red one.Which would made sense if it's for red Templars.

Now I need to watch that demo again!

Interesting... I didn't know that was a Raider symbol on the outside of that cave. Nice find!

I did notice this though - there is another town/city briefly visible in the video on the other side of the castle, along the lake.

Cool finding about the Red Templars' symbol. Considering that in the concept arts the templars wore the common symbol, this and the lack of RL Weapons in the concepts are good signs of RT not rapresenting all the templars at war with the mages.
The bows of the RT shown the strings. I didn't notice it in the demo (though I knew they're in).

Very interesting... Thank for posting this! I think I see what they meant about potion management; each companion can be equipped with a certain amount and carry up to three different potions it seems. At least that's what I'm thinking.

Good find!

I wonder if that's just an extension of the keep, or crestwood, or what exactly. The path seemed to split in an unexplored direction:

It's interesting... Crestwood (which is under attack) is to the left and seems substantially smaller than the town further along the lake. It doesn't seem to be an extension of the castle as we can see it from various vantange points. It just seems to be... some other town.

I want to point out that while I really hope Nevarra and the FM will be locations in DAI, and the map in the loading screen might be a hint, they're not confirmed yet.
I prefer to remain pessimistic about this. It's better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

I knew about the Raiders symbol for a while. I think the Raiders were going to be a faction Hawke had to deal with in the Exalted March expansion. Since that got canceled, that conflict has been rolled into Inquisition.

Good thread, though.

I wonder if my inquisitor can use one if those awesome looking bows?

The spell icon above the ice wall and firestorm ones is that ice glyph that Vivienne lays down to encase those enemies before the inquisitor smashes the bridge down.

Sure, if you don't mind the paranoia that comes with it.

Anyway, nice spotting with the cross, OP.

The cross in no way resembles the cross of that particular religion, other than the fact that it is indeed a cross. I think you're looking into things a little too much.

Nice work, OP. Some great finds!

Yeah I noticed that too. Shouldn't it be a sunburst instead?

I though Red Lyrium was rare to be found. And only in the deepest depths of the Deep Roads. How did the templars - if they ever were templars. The Red Templars, that is - get their hands on so much to arm so many of them, down to lowly archers even?

The sunburst is the symbol of the Chantry. Why would the Red templars use a similar symbol?

Considering that Red templar might assume red lyrium potions to sustained their abilities and addiction, other than to create their weapons, the implications are...unpleasant.

Good digging.  Based off of the design of the red lyrium bows, I think we may be seeing bows being used as melee weapons as well.  I never played DA2 as a rogue, so I have no idea if that is new or not.  Either way, I'm a huge fan of bladed bows.

Considering they were fomer templars I was assuming they would use a modified (corrupted) sunburst as their logo.
