In one of the Game Informer interviews Mark Darrah says we will be going from Eastern Fereldan to Western Orlais, so where would you like to see in Eastern Fereldan make a return? I personally would like to see Denerim in Frostbite 3 and possibly Gwaren.

Cool finds.

In regards to the cross.  It actually kind of fits with what we know of the MO of the Red Templars.

Crucifiction is one of the most agonizing ways there is to die.  If the RTs are truly out to make an example of the apostate mages and such, I could very easily see them crucifying their victims and taking on a blood red flaming cross as their symbol.

Yes, it is possible that bioware is just being lazy, but I think I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that.

Good eye. However, some of the images may be placeholders, which could explain why Western Aproach and Southern Desolation use the same picture. One (or both) of them could change before release.

Will be good to go back to the Frostback Mountains, though. I believe there's some speculation that the Inquisition's main keep is located there?

Well it would make some sense that the first Keep we ever saw (one of the first concept arts we saw: the Keep with the long bridge, tucked in nicely between mountains) is located there.
I for one would really like to return to Orzammar or at least the part before the gates of Orzammar. Or maybe even a little section of the Deep Roads there in those mountains.

I would like some part of the Bannorn, since all we really got in Origins was a few generic fields for Chantry board quests. Maybe South Reach, that lies along the West Road. Denerim would be amazing, though I don't think we'll get there since it played such a big role in Origins. I'm figuring Gwaren is to be expected. I would really like that actually.

EDIT: just looked at the map again, and Dragon's Peak just below Denerim seems like a safe bet.

Yeah they used the murder knife as their melee weapon.

Thanks for clearing that up.  Either way, a bladed bow makes a bit more sense than drawing a short murder knife.  It's not super realistic since most bows are too fragile to whack someone with, but dragons...

But it is a cross.  And when we're dealing with Templars, christian symbolism is hard to ignore.

On Wikipedia, the symbol used for the (real world) Knights Templar is

200px-Cross_Templar.svg.png

Though the Templars in fact seem to have used pretty much every Cross variant ever.

It is true that any sort of cross tends to evoke christianity - but different types of crosses have been important symbols for many things, many of which predate christianity.

I could certainly see that it might upset some people to have that symbol associated with the red templars, though.  This is probably not one of their better artistic choices.

Shape wise, it's a small step if you look at the shape of the sword it used to have. Whether it'll have any 'real' implications we'll just have to wait and see, but I feel that it would've been better to make the templars of Thedas a little more distinct in this respect from their European counterparts.

A cross is a symbol in many religions, not just Christianity. Its importance varies. Bioware isn't promoting Christianity, but possibly making a comparison between historical templars, and the DA templars. I would prefer this thread not turn into a Christianity debate, so please keep relatively on topic.

Great work op, there's some minor thing's i've noticed aswell though i'm not sure if some of them were talked about or not or if they have been mentioned before but not in much detail etc, anyway here's some things.

EXGErdKl.jpg

OADQ2x2l.jpg

The Inquisitor being slowed up by mud, and if you look to the right you'll notice the flag that was near the iron bull in the fire's above trailer in the area which appears a few times.

Didn't get a chance to add this yesterday but I mentioned it and someone else pointed it out aswell.

hkJI8zml.jpg

EwKNMv7l.jpg

Better companion interaction, there's improved banter and interactive banter and a look at how Cassandra armour changed.

B0bzo1rl.jpg

Trebuchet, and they've also said there was some situational siege weapons we can use aswell.

j4BswH2l.jpg

I remember a some people being concerned about ingredient and material gathering which is still in DAI, blood lotus, elf root, sylanwood ( not sure I spelled that right.) and a few others were shown.

O5UM68fl.jpg

Notice board along in the keep after we take it over with some quests.

Also it seems some people have gone missing in the area.

An area in Crestwood, probably is the keep or another stronghold.

Another Crest wood image after town gets destroyed.

More ambient wildlife in the world, there's been a few different types of animals roaming around this one is from the western approach though i'm unsure how much we can interact with them.

A series of ramps in the western approach, wonder what's down there.

As described in the link I previously posted, crosses have been used to represent many things outside of religion.  There will be people who make the association, though, and Wulfrum and I were simply acknowledging that fact.

Thanks for sharing the goodies you noticed in your thorough exam of the video.

Needs to be an option in game. His chest hair should then work like the Ladykiller perk from Fallout.

i'm sure there will be a BUNCH of party banter about it. They improved the appearance of it for Inquisition.

At a guess, it's the symbol of the Iron Bull's company of Tal Vashoth mercenaries. The skull is qunari, and it looks like the flag of a mercenary outfit.

I remember MisterJB (or someone else) posting that the insignia remind something dalish, but it was months ago.
Anyway, I agree that it'll likely be Iron Bull's mercenary company symbol.

YOU'RE RIGHT! Good catch there!

Not sure why that would be in crestwood, unless we captured the crestwood keep from the tal-vashoth mercenaries  prior to the red templar attack.

Oh, so it's from the game itself? I thought it was photoshopped!

I'm a lot more happy now, haha. Welcome back, Varric!
