It's not just Coalesced.  It seems that once I get the game vanilla and pristine, it works.  If I install MEHEM it's fine.  If I place bink23.dll and bink32.dll (for DLC modding) into the win32 directory OR replace the coalesced file, the game refuses to start.  I absolutely cannot figure this out and am about to uninstall the whole mess.

Makes. No. Sense.

Gotta agree with you there. Never had that problem, ever.

All uninstalled and now re-downloading for a new install.  So it will be a bit before I can tweak anything, including the Colossus texture.

I believe I had something like this.  First back up your game stuff, then delete the stuff in the folder with the exe, is that win32 I can't remember and I am not by my gaming PC.  Then use Origin to repair the game.  Now see if it starts after that move the dll's for the DLC into it, I think that is how I fixed it.

Update: delete the stuff in the binaries folder.

@Getorex:

I've had this problem before. For Collector's edition games, sometimes editing the coalesced file triggers this bug.

Basically: you have to manually edit the coalesced entries in order to match it. Essentially the game goes nuts when trying to run a CE game with a not CE coalesced.

OK, looks like I'm back in bi-ness.  New install of ME3, edited Coalesced, installed MEHEM and CEM, installed DLC dlls and all still works.  So now I can get back to updating/fixing mods.

Here's my latest alteration to the Colossus.  First, I do not recall running into these issues when I was first developing the Colossus as a Collector Armor replacement.  Main issue: spec changing colors of armor rather than surface properties (shine, mat, lights, etc).  As I was tweaking the Colossus Spec I was finding that certain colors used CHANGED the colors of the armor totally at odds with what was in the Diff image.

In this case I took advantage of this to make the Colossus look a little different than original:

Red in spec gives the armor the (main) black armor components a black(ish) color in the game with some reflectivity.  Brick red, on the other hand, produces an olive drab type of color.

Still need to play with the helmet to change the visor from mirrored to dark and partially opaque.

A couple more shots in action (my next job will be to make the Diff higher resolution).  So what's verdict?  Like or dislike the new coloration?  Black, red, and olive drab (shoulder plates and on the back).

Personally not too keen on the olive, maybe make it a bit darker and saturate the colour a smidgen more?

Any pointers on how?  This olive color is coming entirely from the Spec and I'm not sure what would do that there.

Then I'd suggest not using the spec that way and switching colour corrections to the diffuse where it belongs. Spec's for lighting purposes primarily. They don't control static colour overlays (apart from skintone, occasionally), tintmaps do, if this channel is is affecting colour I wouldn't use it to recolour those shoulders as it might have undesirable effects. I'm curious though, which mesh is that armor replacing and which spec channel are you getting the colour off?

I wasn't planning to use the Spec for coloration, it just happened that way as I was tweaking the original spec to try and get what I had for the armor's appearance before I quit a few months ago.  I simply went with it after figuring out which tint was causing it.  All I really wanted was originally was to get a few sections mat surfaced with the rest glossy but I haven't yet determined how to do that.

Nevermind.  I found what I needed to get it where I originally wanted it.

Here it is with new spec and enhanced (a bit) diff.  Tweaking a little bit and will release as part of the mod:

New textures released (tpf format) in the OP, at moddb, and at Nexus.

I'll now have to see about giving Ashley and Liara the Colossus too, like ME1...as soon as I was able I decked them both out in Colossus.  Virtually unstoppable.

...I kinda already did that...along with James and Kaidan...  Specifically, I replaced the full squad's From Ashes armors with heavy Titan (at the moment) to go with your Colossus mod :)  I was debating if I wanted to release it, but I won't if you're gonna do one.  Yours will likely turn out much better! :D (mine's just a quick and dirty replace job using ele08's resources)

Shanlii, I didn't do much to get the heavy armor in, did absolutely nothing to the mesh at all and foresaw no need to alter the me1 female armors either - none were cranked up with big boobs or big butts. The only thing id really do is do the texture swap to work in ME3.

I see no need to duplicate what you've done and would suggest you release it. If you haven't done the Colossus texture already I'll just whip that up (and take a look at your Titan because the armor textures aren't conveniently named Colossus or Titan I can't recall what they look like until I see their textures). Colossus is specops, for instance, and I only found it by looking through the textures extracted from me1 one by one.

Go for it and release it and would you post a pic here so I can put a texture pattern to the name Titan? :). Also, did you do a Titan texture to replace the Colossus texture I used for Shep? The whole idea here was to get the mesh into the game and then make the various ME1 textures for other armors available as well. I just haven't gotten far in that regard as yet.

If yours needs tweaking because it's just quick and dirty, it will only need tweaking in the texture area (most likely) and that would likely be mostly spec map fixing. I don't see how mine could really be better under the circumstances. Although...James? You got an armor for james? Did you edit the size of the mesh to match his bulked up dimensions?

Of course, survivor did an me1 armor too, using the HVYb form vs the HVYa form I used. I don't recall if his applied to the From Ashes armor (for Ashley only I think) or elsewhere. Looked good too. Don't let his or my stuff stop you. I won't do again what you or survivor (or others) do unless I have a completely different take on it and I don't see that here.

As I said, it was ele08 who provided the mesh & texture resources. I'm just the middlewoman. ;) She'll be getting all the credit for the hard work extracting everything if/when I do release this.

Currently I've got prepped textures for Titan, Phoenix, Scorpion, and Colossus (my personal faves). The only thing missing on them is a good spec. Ele didn't have a real spec with her textures and I haven't yet made any (specs are not my friend) so I'd welcome any help on that front :)

If you go over to my thread about Liara's default outfit and scroll down the first page, you'll see Ashley in the background on Eden Prime. She's wearing Titan there. It's the black with white camo on the chest and, before you ask, Scorpon's the same but with brown camo instead of white. ;) I'll put up some shots later tonight if you want.

James is using the standard male HVYa mesh. It works as-is, pretty much. He's a little slimmer, but not hugely noticeable. It suits him. :)

The spec of Colossus in place of Collector armor (using Collector armor material) gave me fits.  I could've spent a good week or two just messing with it trying to figure out what various colors do or what different alphas do (for Collector armor, regardless of Diff colors, green will make it shiny silver reflective, dark red - like a brick - makes the color turn olive, black doesn't appear to do much at all, etc).  A dark alpha (grayscale version of Diff) MAY make the armor take on a more matt/flat appearance while using the lighter grays allows for shine/gloss...I think.

I started by looking at the Collector armor spec vs an image of the Collector armor to see what colors, reflectivities, etc, seemed to match different parts of the armor (also comparing to the Diff to make sure colors were true).  I hate specs.

Just took a look at the image you mentioned, Shanlii, in your Liara uniform thread.  Ashley in the ME1 armor.  Looked quite good so, yeah, I hope you release the mod because I'll use it.

Hey just a tip about the Spec texture, I find it is easier to find the colors that the default spec texture in the slot you are going to add you new armor is.  So examine the defaults Spec textures colors and then try to change your new spec textures to match.

@Getorex

If its not too much, could I get the .max file you used to pose the models for Bomma72?

If you're using blender, could you convert the posed model file to a FBx format? I have a theory about importing poses into different meshes.
