Off topic for a moment but...just started playing ME1 again with MEUTM installed. Difficult to get working (the game) though not sure if the hi-res texture pack plays some role in this. LOTS of GPFs or complete failures to even start...until I went with Windows XP SP2 compat mode. Now the GPFs are occasional rather than constant. What I do wonder is if anyone else around here 1) has a recent NVidia card; 2) has 3D Vision capability on your rig; 3) can get 3D Vision working properly with ME1.
ME1 is the one game in the series that receives an "excellent" with regards to compatibility with NVidia's 3D capabilities. All my games work with 3D Vision just fine (where you wear the polarized glasses like in the theater 3D movie, not the bi-color glasses) EXCEPT ME1. It alone keeps starting up and going into anaglyph mode 3D - that is the red and green 3D type where you need the bi-color glasses. It SHOULD be running in the 3D Vision dual polarization mode but nothing I do so far will kick it into that mode. Anyone happen to know a (or the) trick to this? Traffic is so low here now vs the heyday but still hoping someone somewhere will have an answer.
Finally, I'm not sure if it is the hi-def textures or something else but if I play in 2D mode, I cannot see icons on the radar or maps (try and explore a planet in the Mako with the radar and maps coming up blank!), I cannot see the health bars for anyone, I cannot see the a lot of helpful hud stuff - it's just invisible. They all become visible in 3D mode, however, but it's the wrong 3D mode.
