One's armor need not have anything to do with your actual shape underneath.  Human armors (particularly medieval) had high neck plates to protect against slash attacks to the neck, it has nothing to do with the actual body underneath (except to signify a vulnerability).  In any case, I would more likely go with something LIKE the pic you present vs the original from DeviantArts.  The pic you provide doesn't have a fully enclosed neck ridge (no food/crumb and rain catcher).

I got messages at ME3explorer forums that indicate you don't need to revanilla to scan.  I deleted the old tree and ran the scan when I went to bed.  Nice to (finally) see it completed on a modded ME3 without crashing out even though it complained about files modified after June of 2013.    Back in bidness.

That, in fact, is one of my plans.  

 

I checked and the face texture works as is (on the model) but the hair will need a tweaking but works too, even in Blender.  My plans were:

1. A mod that replaces James with Adam just for grins and giggles - and to test him out.

2. A mod that replaces default Shep with Adam, body and head.  

 

For 2 I have to break him into parts anyway, or because of the shape his file is in after importing from obj, reduce his parts to 2: a torso and a separate head.  As he is, he has separate parts scattered semi-randomly.  Complete mess but I'm slowly getting him unwound and rolled back up more cleanly.  The face texture in particular will need some fixing as it is pretty low res.

Oh, sweet! That'll make things MUCH easier. Gah sorry, have alot of health issues, so I had laid down last night pretty early, then woke up a little later to see that message. I did vanilla scan the male/female files and I'll save a backup just in case. ^^

This is not the finished Adam, this is the original *.obj file.  I made his legs longer and his torso thinner (not so obvious in this image but the original mesh has oddly short legs and a too-fat torso that makes Adam look like he's been hitting the pizzas and McD's fries too hard).  The body is clearly a rather well-done outside-the-game creation rather than an actual capture/export from the game.  Gives an idea as to what the finished mod will look like:

Hi im having issues with the ashley mesh mod so i load it up once in the game i get infinite loading screen on the Normandy, and in missions ash has a blacked out face and no hair however if i back off a short distance from her i can see the changes pony tail and face change but it appears glitchy any thoughts?

So does that mean you're you going to alter the mesh to make it look more like the concept art? A hoodie shape rather than a complete rim around the neck? If so I think that it will make it look a lot better. Here's an early design of a turian from bioware as an example;

Also Shep makes a reference to Garrus's carapace in-game so she knows he has one. I agree with you that the armour shape being his exact body shape is  silly but I do think he needs a "hood" at the very least. Keep up the good work , super excited about this mod  :)

I have an issue regarding this Ashley mod:

 

ASHLEY MODS:
New Ashley mod replaces default uniform and hair (when wearing the uniform) with an Aliiance uniform and ponytail.  This is v1.0.  I will keep tweaking the hair until I am fully satisfied.  MUCH thanks to Azarkiowa at Nexus for permission to adapt one of his excellent Skyrim ponytail mods to ME3 for Ashley.  This mod covers virtually everything Ashley http://www.mediafire...y-Modv2-fix.zip and DLC packages: Citadel (ME1 face, short dress, Alliance uniform w/ponytail) Ashley-DLC_EXP_Pack003_Base.zip

Hello guys, great work you've done with the meshes. Getorex, a heads up for you with original armors from ME. Do you think it's possible to get back oxygen pipes that were going from a pack on the back to a helmet? Always bugged me starting with ME2. It's like the devs either forgot to draw them or just decided to implement the "artistic integrity" over realistic elements.

Gradual freeze?  I've never run into that one.  So you mean at the VERY beginning, on earth, when you first meet her your game freezes?  I can try rebuilding the mod, focusing on BioH_Ashley_00_NC.pcc...that is the file being used on earth (and in the Normandy).

I have an ME1 game just started, I don't think I ever paid attention enough to see oxygen pipes but I'll take a look.  I'll have to see which armors and how they're implemented.

Been away for a few days fighting off the Fimbulwinter without end (I have come to HATE winter as of this year) and working a mod.  Back again off-and-on for the next few days (I'll try to get the Ashley thing worked out) and take a look at ME1 armors/oxygen hoses, etc.  Also need to make mods to USE the new BioG_HMM_ARM_SHP.pcc to get them imported...though replacing the Collector Armor is always viable - that sucker just plain sucks.

I'm seeing an Ashley issue myself with this mod - I installed the mod and tried loading an existing save on the Normandy (immediately before Priority: Thessia), but when I go down to the crew deck the game is permanently stuck on the loading screen.

Ah...I saw that on my own system the other day but thought it was one of my defunct mods.  It is the helmet being mis-assigned materials.  The visor is getting the helmet material and that makes the helmet texture apply to the visor. Easy to fix in Meshplorer but not easy to explain how to fix. The helmet is getting the armor material...the original collector helmet had 3 materials while the new helmet uses only 2.  The pcc has materials 0 and 1 assigned, respectively to the 2 parts of the helmet (the helmet itself is getting assigned 0 (armor material) and the visor is getting the helmet material 1).  Correcting this in meshplorer is simply a matter of assigning the correct materials in the LOD models section (middle window).  Go to LOD models, expand that, expand the top entry called "sections".  There will be 2 sections listed.  The first with the most triangles (number of triangles is listed in the expanded entry at the bottom) is the helmet itself.  You click on "Material" and click "edit" up top.  A window pops up with Material 0 showing in it.  Enter "1" and OK.  Then go to the next section (with 152 triangles) which is the visor, click on Material and in the pop-up window enter "2" (no quotation marks) and OK.  Now, on your system the helmet has been assigned the correct textures.  Unfortunately, this fix doesn't carry through if you export the mesh or use the corrected pcc to make a mod.  The only way to fix it for everyone is on my end in 3ds or Blender, assigning the correct materials in the modeling software before exporting to psk for the rest of the game import process. 

 

I'll fix that ASAP.

Hey Getorex, I'm trying to use Ashley's amazing 6 armor addition for the ladies...but I've seemed to encountered a problem. I can get Tela Vasir's and a version of the asari commando armor to show up under fullybodyappearances, but the other 4 don't show there. So I added them all to casual to see if that'd work, which it does for all of them. Then I added them to torsoappearances, as I already have some invisible parts so thy'll work. game hangs when i come to the first choice there. :( Do I have to edit the torsoappearance lines differently than fullbodyappearances and casualappearances? I never had to before, but I'd love to wear a Sentry Visor with these, and make the other 4 armors work as actual armor, and I've hit a wall trying different things.

 

The other four i used were: one of Liara's default armors (the blue one, not the Ashes armor...and it's recolored the blue to red)...Miranda's Alt Appearance Armor that Ashley made (the Spectre version), an N7 version of EDI's armor, and the armored tunic that Ashley Williams wears (recolored black and with N7 on it currently, though I am likely to change it to default because of texture issues with the copy I got).  I just feel like I'm missing something patently obvious, lol. I used Meshplorer to replace meshes where appropriate, and Texplorer to put in the correct textures. Because it works under casualappearances just fine, I can't help but feel this is something to do with the format in the coalesced...

 

PS...Realized I derailed this thread a bit, but I am hoping some useful info can come of it, and this seems a good place for it to go when customizing armor etc... :)

 

PPS...The ID numbers in my coalesced were causing my fullbody issues, they all now show up! <3 Now I still have the freezing on loading in torsoappearances. Pretty sure that's a result of the coalesced too now. It worked fine before, but it's even freezing trying to load a cerberus shade armor mod I had added to remove the helm (it worked fine for that particular fix, for the shade armor I mean, lol). Anyone else who might have this issue...make sure you don't have duplicate ID=## numbers in your coalesced line!

Niire, I'm not very knowledgeable on coalesced editing, merely getting by on finding answers via google or other members who DO a lot of coalesced editing.  It would be helpful/nice if Ashley664444 would appear here again because of the information she has/had.  She would have been much more likely to have offered a quick fix for your issues than I.

 

As for hijacking the thread, not really.  While this whole thing started at the old site to offer up my own early mesh mod work (before it was even possible to mesh mod ME3...I was working in anticipation of being able to do so) I'd prefer it to be expanded to include collaborative info sharing and general mesh mod help/instructions as well as some general texture editing info too (as some mesh mods require texture work to make them work properly).  Coalesced edits fall within the range too as they are sometimes required to work with some mesh mods too (if you want to change armor stats from default values offered in the 6 open slots in the Shep files).

Yah, i ended up taking the MOAM coalesced and changing some of the chest slot full body armors to what I needed, and that worked, lol. I am certain i messed up somewhere in the lines, but been running all day today and have not had a chance to check. Now i am having texture issues with one armor I have...it's an N7 remake of Aria's armor, I got it on the Nexus. it's coming out completely yellow bright tints in game. For this one, I had to manually place files through meshplorer and texplorer, because I didn't want to replace the dress, i wanted to use it in one of the new armor slots. You can see a pic that looks exactly like the color I'm talking about from the old post, it seemed to be an issue Survivor had, but I couldn't find an obvious solution... http://s18.postimg.o...02_16_00001.jpg Sorry about no screenshot lol...I can try to grab one myself if it'll help, but i've never taken screens in ME! :P

 

The hijacking part, I had a feeling that was its purpose, but figured I'd throw it out there in case! <3
