This might sound very stupid but what do i do with the Ashley Face and Body Makeover v6 download?

 

It's a *.mod file instead of a straight load of altered pcc files.  Too many people seemed to have issues with the pcc files (perhaps there are incompatibilities between versions of ME3).  While they worked fine on my system others reported game crashiness.

 

To install the mod you use ME3explorer, in Tools menu, Mod Maker.  Load the mod file there and simply run the lot.  EVERYTHING will be modded in the main game that is Ashley.  Her face, body, armor, helmet, romance texture and body, hospital body and texture, new alliance uniform.

Yah, i ended up taking the MOAM coalesced and changing some of the chest slot full body armors to what I needed, and that worked, lol. I am certain i messed up somewhere in the lines, but been running all day today and have not had a chance to check. Now i am having texture issues with one armor I have...it's an N7 remake of Aria's armor, I got it on the Nexus. it's coming out completely yellow bright tints in game. For this one, I had to manually place files through meshplorer and texplorer, because I didn't want to replace the dress, i wanted to use it in one of the new armor slots. You can see a pic that looks exactly like the color I'm talking about from the old post, it seemed to be an issue Survivor had, but I couldn't find an obvious solution... http://s18.postimg.o...02_16_00001.jpg Sorry about no screenshot lol...I can try to grab one myself if it'll help, but i've never taken screens in ME! :P

 

The hijacking part, I had a feeling that was its purpose, but figured I'd throw it out there in case! <3

Progress report on Adam Jensen.  I will cry like a Banshee if for some reason this all falls apart upon import into the game (I'm using Blender instead of 3ds for the entire work and I've had issues from Blender in the past) but...

 

I've separated Adam's head from his body so it can be used to replace a head (Shepard's in this case) in the game.  This is his textured head (sans hair mesh) all UV mapped and ready to go.  I used Kaidan's full body as the calibrator (size/scaling) for both body and head, then transfered his bones to Adam as well as the weights.  It APPEARS on this foray with Blender that transfering skin weights is actually easier and perhaps somewhat better than doing a skinwrap in 3ds.  I may end up having to do the final fixes in 3ds if I'm wrong but it looks good so far.

 

Update: I just finished rigging and skin weighting Adam's head and I have to say that I'm impressed by Blender's ability to transfer weights better than 3ds does with skinwrap.  With 3ds, even though the details of skinwrap have finer tuning abilities than Blender's "Transfer Weights", I still only had to adjust/correct a few bone weights whereas in 3ds I always have to tune almost ALL bone weights for heads regardless of how I tune the skinwrap.  Well done Blender BUT it is a fair bit harder to fix the incorrect weights in Blender than it is in 3ds.

Good to see this thread continued. Kinda waiting for me3explorer to get a little more stable before I go to reinstalling these mods. Keep up the good work Getorex!

Vapaa: great to hear.  A big relief.

 

The initial trial run of Adam in ME3 (I replaced Vega on the Normandy but didn't get the right textures for the head in).  There's a few skin weight issues to iron out and I think I need rework the spec for the hands but otherwise it is going to work.

And therefore, would it be possible to make a preset with default original Jane face from ME1 or 2 for FemShep? It would be the best.

i'm not sure about the facial preset thing for custom shep but there is a custom head (by title) in the head pcc and I'm presuming (until proven otherwise) that this is has something to do with it.  We all know there are multiple preset custom sheps but I do not, as yet, know where they are all stored,  Replacing sheploo is easy enough and Ive already done it on my system for testing. I haven't messed with the custom head yet.  The problem with replacing sheploo is he doesn't have a hair mesh and Adam does - and I dont know of any way to get him to use a hair mesh...thus the advantage of a preset custom shep - there ARE multiple hair meshes.  i would replace one with Adam's hair (and beard - they go together) so you could then select the correct one).  I'd dispense with one of the ridiculous sissy male model hair dos and put in Adam's.  

 

Right now I'm fine-tuning his skin weights.  Because his default pose was different from from the me3 default poses, and I had to pose Adam's arms and hands as close to me3 normal as possible to get a good bone and skin weight transfer - it wasn't perfect so his arms and hand weights are dicked up.  Have to fix that to eliminate the distortions and glitches I see in the game with him right now.

 

One major thing I noted when doing this is the overall size and proportions of ME3 male characters are fairly different then DEHR's.  They don't look like it on their own (ME3 male characters) but in comparison to Adam they looked chunky/portly.  Adam was svelt in comparison.  The heads are also heavier in various dimensions than DEHR.  I had to do some funky scaling of Adam to increase his size in certain specific dimensions to make him "fit" ME3 bodies/bones/heads.  That took a lot of subsequent fine-tuning of the mesh to correct weird effects that had on Adam's appearance.

I was a little confused the first time I read your post...if you are asking if I can replace a preset femshep with Adam then the answer is no. It wouldn't work as the voice would be femshep. The replacement has to be mshep to keep Adam rendered correctly.

Anyone know where all the preset shep custom heads are? Or as I think on it, does every custom head use the same default but just apply a different texture to it, allowing user tweaks after the fact?

Getorex, did you fix Femsheps armor/casuals, or where you planning on it? I seem to remember something about it and since you're the only one I know of fixing meshes...I'd really like a fixed version of Femsheps default outfit (what she wears in the prolog with Anderson).

 

If it's something you're planning on doing later, cool. If it's something you've already done, even better! Where is it?

That IS doable...now that I get your point.  Blender has a plugin specifically for pulling ME1 head/face meshes but even without that, you can export the meshes from either ME1 or 2 (it's how the legacy armors are done, and it's how ELE did her version of the Ashley ME1 Legacy Face mod).  Pull it out, re-export from Blender or 3ds, UDK, import...the texture thing is a LITTLE trickier but doable too.  To get the meshes out you have to use Gildor's Umodel app since that functionality has never been added to ME3explorer (sadly).

I haven't been doing that because there ARE others doing that sort of thing.  Ottemis, ELE, others at Nexus have various femshep mods...the Kasumi dress, some mod for giving femshep more muscle...and there's a lot of clothes mods at DeviantArts...some quite good looking.

I've got the fix for the Collector armor/Colossus replacement helmet issue.  Apply this mod and all is right with the universe (fixes helmet and gives much better normal map): http://www.mediafire...-Collector3.zip

Two things on the front burners right now: finishing Adam (just combined his hair, beard, and eyelashes into one mesh/UV map and hope to get it to all work on default Shepard by replacing the eyelashes with the whole bundle of hair.  The other thing...I was asked to produce a Jack mod of which I'm about half-way through.  Side burner is still the Garrus mesh where I need to rejigger the bony plate ridge around his collar.

 

Anyone else working anything interesting?

I'm trying my hand at cloning outfits, but so far I have concluded I am doing something wrong...seriously think I need to play the game for a bit then try again, lol. For some reason, while playing stuff seems to dawn on me faster than not. I managed to figure out the issue I was having with textures by the way...those outfits needed to originate as casual outfits, and thus were glowing like mad, lol. That came to me while playing...:P

 

SVN update by the way. Looks like they ironed out a few more tpf tool bugs yay. Actually...that may be what I tinker with to clear my head a bit. I've not had any success loading a tpf permanently into the game yet. 

 

Ohh and by the way...I might have to profess my undying love for you Getorex. I was trying to install your Tali face mod, along with Ottemis' Default EDI, and kept hitting DLC errors. Then, i got hold of the DLC pack you put up over at the Nexus (I had it from the ME3Explorer site already, but the errors I am getting are about corrupt DLC). I read your Readme, and now I think I know what's happening! :D (The undying love thing was a joke by the way...no need to get all "stalker-y!" on me, to quote Joker sort of...)

Too late (on the stalker-y thing...sorry :).  I've suddenly run into my own DLC issue that I hope is just a random glitch.  Can't start the game because I keep getting "DLC corrupted" messages.  I haven't touched my DLC for weeks and the game worked fine the other day when I test-drove Adam.

It's not a glitch, check your default.sfar's and see if they're over 2 gigs in size - that's usually where you get that error message from. I already reported the bug in the me3explorer forum.

Well, running the dlc updater fixed my issues (*knocks on wood*). I was able to load every tpf I tried with that. :)

How big are your .sfars? And have you been slowly adding more stuff over time?

I'll have to check their sizes. I did try rebuilding the sfars to no avail. The problem I've run into is restricted to the citadel dlc. I ran a repair last night because even after replacing with my backup I still got the corruption message. I'll try starting the game again later today and then remodding the dlc to see if I can get through. I've made NO changes to the dlc at all since the original mods weeks ago (Ashley, Tali, Miranda, Traynor) and it worked then. I had to recheck my origin settings to make sure no update sneaked through from Bioware to ruin dlc modding as well...nothing to explain the issue yet.

Well, repairing the Citadel DLC  corrected the problem (no real surprize) and then I could try another run of Adam.  He was worse off than before so I have to go in and check/fix weights in his arms.  I also ran it this time with his hair/beard/eye lashes attached and there were a few vertices there that need fixing too.  The rest of him looked fine.  The main issue is his forearms contain a lot of mesh stuff related to his arm-blades in DEHR.  I haven't removed them because I have an idea of using at least one of the arm blades in place of the omni blade for Shepard.  Go to use the omni blade and instead there's Adam's arm blade extended.  

 

That's the idea, anyway...but things would be much easier if I eliminated all that.  It's hard to navigate around in his forearms to balance/tweak/add proper weights to the hidden mesh elements.
