Latest test of Miranda's new suit:

testmir-12_zps4b8f010a.jpg

Only thing I'm not too sure on is the "5181-8" text on the side of her right arm (have absolutely no idea what it meant on Ashley's uniform, either) and the birds design on her left chest (I like the design but am not too sure about it's current blue color, but it needs to be a dark color to be visible against the white).

Beautiful AVPen.  Now my Shepard wants her :)

I wondered about the numbers too when I was first looking at the texture but figured it was less an issue than the S1 thing on the chest.  The birds...I think they should be left but definitely made more visible with another color.  Orange like the stripes?

VERY glad the breast mesh no longer sticks out.  I'll get around to trying to fix the slight line around the throat soon.

Another thing...I may need to tweak her hair mesh a little to see about having less clipping into the shoulders of this uniform.

I like Miranda, but it's hard to do romances with almost any of the me2 romances since they get such short shrift in me3. But her outfit is starting to make a lot more sense with these meshes/textures. It was always a bit silly, that white outfit, and even more silly she would show up on the citadel in an outfit so noticeable, lol, when she's on the run from Cerberus.

I think the same think about Jacob, who's also wearing the exact same uniform that he was wearing in ME2, but minus the Cerberus logo.

I remember JeanLuc changed up the material a bit and color of Miranda's suit.

That's what I was remembering. I liked that look on Miranda's clothes.

This recolored Ashley's jacketsuit looks awesome on Miranda! Do you plan to make her loyalty outfit and the alt. appearance armor (but without visor) from ME2 for her to wear as well? Or anyone else using old loyal outfits? Some of them were quite cool-looking.

Is it just me of Miranda's head mesh in ME3 looks inferior to the ME2 version?

Not joking, but when Miranda first appears in ME3.... this image popped in my head.

There is something off between the two versions.  I think it is the lighting or enhancements that were made between 2 and 3 that shows it being a bit off.

Lol at this pic. But I think that the mesh is edgier, or more low poly in ME3. Though it could be the engine.

To me I always thought that Miranda's head looked a tad bit too big for her body.  Maybe it's the big hair making the illusion.  Easy way to check (the head size and the polycount).  I'll simply export her head from ME2 and compare it to ME3 (for polycount and overall look...I suspect they simply used the exact same meshes in ME3) and compare her head to some random other female head in ME3 (for size).

And...done.  They may have used the same face but they did not use the same head.  In ME2 her hair is actually part of her head, it is not a separate mesh applied over a head.  The faces from ME2 vs ME3 are virtually identical so it isn't really polycount.  In ME3 her upper forehead is ever-so-slightly more rounded then her ME2 forehead but it can't be enough to make her head look bigger.  So, the appearance vs ME2 is a combo of illusion and, perhaps, difference in game engine rendering.

Thanks for clarification, Getorex. Still that's remarkable how a rendering engine can blow up the impression.

Decided not to touch the numbers on the patch of suit's right arm, but tried recoloring the birds on the chest to be a similar yellow-orange as the stripes:

I think I'm more or less finished with the texture work, unless you can think of anything else that I missed on it, Getorex.

I think it looks outstanding and I cannot think of anything else, texture-wise.  I'll play with the hair a bit but I think it's ready for release otherwise.  Let me finish the hair mesh stuff and then we can get it into a mod.

I've done Miranda's hair and will now generate the mesh and face/head texture portion of a mod for the entire game (main and DLC).  We can then combine that with your body texture and get this thing out there.

Sounds good. Did you check about also swapping out Miranda's mesh for the Armax Arena? (I noticed that changing her mesh for the "DLC_EXP_Pack003_Base" package doesn't change her outfit when she appears as a squadmate for the Arena)

I'm getting them all. I haven't made the actual mod file yet but have swapped the meshes in all the pcc files Miranda appears in, including the sim. I've also got the scalp texture part of the mod done. I'll make the actual mod tomorrow as I'm off for bed now.

This is going to take a long time.  ME3explorer crashes CONSTANTLY whenever I try to save mods at the moment.  All I can do it try to save the Miranda mod as parts (1, 2, 3, etc) made up of tiny little bits because a handful of pcc files included in the mod leads to a crash and all the work is lost.  Again and again.  Damn app.

Actually it's worse than that, I cannot create a mod file containing even a single pcc alteration because it crashes.  This will, therefore, take an infinite amount of time.

I've gone back to ME3explorer v620 and mods are working again.

Yeah I think Ottemis was saying something about that on the me3explorer forum - I'm kinda holding off on the tool until KFreon comes out with a new version and it tests okay. On a different note, the latest me1 texture pack has come out: http://www.moddb.com...ts-mod/#4471085

Almostfaceman, actually I ended up deleting ME3explorer entirely and re-downloading it via svn from zero and that seems to have fixed the issue.  I've finally successfully created the mesh and face texture portion of the Miranda mod and only need the uniform textures to make it final.

Ok, uploaded the new suit textures for Mediafire: http://www.mediafire...it-Textures.zip

The folder includes the DDS texture files along with a TPF file that I made of them for Texmod (but it doesn't sound like you'll be needing it for your mod, I don't know)

Thanks for posting that. As a side, is there something like that for ME2, or do they all use Texmod?

In a non-installer, less organized fashion, yes there are texture mods for me2, just be sure to read the instructions carefully - not sure how many problems you may run into with the current build of me3explorer either. Give it a go, here's a link to the forum and the thread that has the install directions and links to mods http://me3explorer.f...d-tpf-t772.html
