I was going to post the exact same thing. Literally. "I don't like change..."
Also, someone mentioned in another thread being able to change the color scheme to make it easier on the eyes but I can't find it in the settings menu. Anyone know how? I would have asked in the other thread but it has been locked already. Looks like BiowareMod01 found the new club house.
You need to use a browser plugin that others have mentioned, right now there isn't one built into the forum itself.
As far as speed, I find what bogs the site down is the amount of "unread posts" for if I keep marking all forums read when I am leaving the page it loads faster.

The biggest issues I have so far is the way they split up the ME3 multiplayer forum into categories, and also how the new feeds and updates operate. Oh and the blinding ceaseless whiteness.
If you use firefox, you can install an add on called Dark Background Switcher. It's not perfect but it is excellent for extended reading.
