I want to listen to music while I play a game and its annoying having to press ctrl + alt then delete, go onto task manager, quit that, change music then click on the game again.

Is there a way to freely swap between the two?

alt + tab should do the job. It will let you change between various windows, including the desktop.

Also, ctrl + shift + esc is a shortcut to get to the task manager rather than having to go through ctrl + alt + delete.

Pressing the window button works for me.

Depends on the game really, some of them can react pretty badly to losing focus. However, if they work fine with the Ctrl+Alt+Del->Task Manager thing, they should be fine with alt-tabbing too.

It tends to work better when games can be run in a "borderless window" mode.
