Will the characters that survive the suicide mission in ME2 be available as teammates in ME3 or is that too early to tell?

I was just wanting to see his reaction or reply, I didn't expect anything serious.

No, there will ONLY be controlling with Shepard, we will not assume the perspectives of our squadmates. this was confirmed in the old ME Forums

Must have missed that confirmation. I was certainly looking for it. Thanks for the heads up though.

Possibility of Mass Effect MMO!

My life would be OVER if this happens..

He did not say that. He said that it is possible to create anything from co-op style shooters or MMO's in Mass Effect precisely because it has such a vast universe with room for alot of different games. He also said nothing is planned yet.

Thus therefore it is a possibility is it not?

Going back to Earth would be interesting, specially if they put something in there for the 'Earthborn' Sheps. Wonder if Akuze will be a place we can go to as well for the 'Colonist' Sheps?

Well yeah every type of game is possible until it is officially denied, but we allready knew that before this interview.

But yeah, it is a nice idea for those who don't want to play in SWTOR's cartoony universe, but still want a Bioware MMO.

that's always been the case - they have confirmed it several times - this trilogy is shepard's story.

Sorry to burst your superiority complex bubble but not only are your facts wrong, so is your logic.

First, saying something has "always been the case" refers to past-tense activity. Since I know good and d*nm well that ME1 did not include the option of controlling squadmates directly via a 2nd-person (over the shoulder) camera, telling me that this has "always been the case" is not only sardonic, it is also pointless.

Second, they have not confirmed "several times" that the control of party members in ME2 or ME3 will be limited exclusively to the pause wheel. The confirmation of the pause wheel in no way confirms or denies the possibility of direct squad control, this is plainly evident in Dragon Age: Origins (where both the pause wheel and squad member control were available).

Finally, the argument that the trilogy is "Shepard's story" in no way illudes to the possibility of squad member control. I state again as my reference the ability to control any members of your squad in Dragon Age: Origins. The "Story" is obviously focused on the Grey Warden, however you can (at any given time) swap control to any other party member and progress through the hack'm/slash'm aspect of the game with anyone you wish. Are you attempting to say that Dragon Age: Origins is the story of every single party member? I dare you to try and sell that one to the gaming community.

Whereas I will concede the fact that they are indeed two different games and that just because they were developed by the same company does not necessarily mean they share the same plot progression dynamic, it is reasonable to assume that the blatantly obvious similarities testify to the possibility that the two games do in fact share the same fundamental " plot focus." (IE: Story is about the main character) Therefore, it is logical to deduce that if it is possible for a game developer to make a game which focuses on the story of a single individual, but still allow gamers the ability to control separate members of the party...it is entirely possible for the same company to employ the same capability in another game it has developed which also focuses on the story of a single individual.

Postscript: I know that was a mouthful but "Jebel Krong" seems to think that I am an ignorant adolescent who hasn't done my research or thought this concept through. I am merely proving him wrong.

Spoiler

This doesn't surprise me at all, I've been thinking that for a wihle now. It's so awesome to think that by the time I'm beginning to get tired of running through ME2, ME3 will be just around the corner. :P
