I'd enter, but my mic quality is super excrement. May enter anyway, Seneschal script is fun.

I'm banned too because of my country.
Too bad Bioware. You guys have just missed the sexiest voice, the most charismatic actor ever seen, and, and, and... Well, just forget what I said... And no, I'm not disappointed, angry, sad, or whatever you'd like to think...
I'll just show my talents elsewhere...
Good luck for those who have the opportunity to participate, can't wait to see the result. =)

yahhh,im from Québec too and i dont understand why we are exclude from this :/Alas, I am from Quebec, the only part of Canada that isn't allowed to enter. Funny that Bioware Montreal is set up in Quebec, but no one in our province is allowed to enter.

This contest sounds like a blast, definitely going to try it. Seneschal's script looks like a lot of fun to try out

Passing this on to a friend. Don't know if I will do it. I'd probably freeze up ![]()

My only question is, are we limited to only one submission? Either way, I'm in.

Posté 25 février 2014 - 10:02
Edit:
^@JokeDealer- yes, rules state that any submissions in excess of one will be discarded.

Even though I don't think I have the skill nor the voice to pull off something like this, I wish the best luck to all those who will try it out. I really like the scripts, even if they don't say much of anything. Just reading them I can imagine what it will be like to see Orlais for the first time.
Can't wait for this bloody game.

This is very interesting.
I'm tempted to enter just for kicks, but seeing as how I wouldn't go there to do it even if I was selected, it would be a waste of time.

Sounds fun. If only I didn't completely hate my voice. It sounds fine to me when I'm speaking, but when I hear a recording of how it actually sounds it's terrible. The last thing I'd want to encounter in Dragon Age is the sound of my own voice. ![]()
I convinced a friend who wants to break into VO work to try though. It'll be ironic if he wins, since he's never even played a Dragon Age game. ![]()

As much as I want to, I know I wouldn't win. And that also takes me way too far out of my comfort zone so even if I won it, I would be too nervous to actually record.

Thinking about it, it's actually the same with me ... Very well, I'm no longer sad I can't even try it. xD

I'm quite tempted to do so, actually, having practiced accents and impressions since I was but a little one.
People have also told me in the past (here within the UK) that I've got quite the deep, but soft sounding voice.
But all things considered, being completely inexperienced in the world of voice recording and webcams; makes this unlikely to occur.

Probably for the best, don't imagine they would want my Danish anyway. :S

I think it's really cool they're doing this!
That being said, although I could technically participate, I have the voice acting talent of a potato and a southern drawl to boot. I'm... not thinking "Northeast Florida Redneck" is anywhere close to what they're going for with any of the Dragon Age countries. ![]()

To be honest I've always felt that Europeans and Asians have been a vastly underrated fanbase, as it's always the Europeans and/or Asians who aren't able to join in on these kinds of competitions. Provided these Europeans are from the continent, of course. Our British friends always seem to be able to slip past unnoticed

I'm sure I'm a jerk for thinking this, but I don't really love the idea of non-professionals contributing. This, like the Chobot voicing in ME3, seems more like marketing and promotion than a design choice made in the best interest of the scene. The best I can hope for is that the winners are talented enough to go unnoticed. Generally I'm happy to see Bioware interacting with fans, but game content is sacred, and this doesn't sit well with me.

It's a short scene, and there will be enough people competing that there will be a good number to chose from. Don't worry, be happy.
