On easy mode, I presume?

In retrospect, he's not that hard to beat in Persona 4 Golden in general, since the game is relatively easier in terms of overall difficulty, partially due to the inbalance in terms of XP and money grind you can get from the Golden Hands which essentially throws any challenge out of the window.

Margaret, however, usually always bring a true challenge on most difficulties.

In Persona Q & Persona 3 he is no joke. Even with Yoshitsune in Q, he's not easy to overcome due to his obnoxius usage of Tentarafoo, Power Charge, Deathbound & Mamudoon.. he'll also bind any usage of spells or physical attacks should you not have resistances towards them. Luckily i granted Naoto with Helel to resist spell binds so I can still keep up on the healing.

Not that hard in Persona 4 (and Golden seems exponentially easier than the original game) is almost an understatement. Dude was a cakewalk in comparison to his P3 incarnation. I actually felt like I wasted my time. But if he's as hard as he is in P3 then this gon b gud. And by "gud" I mean I'll probably want to punch somebody in the face for feeling so helpless until I grind to level 99 to triumphantly kick his ass. Ah if only Teddie were real. I'd love to punch him in the face. Why can't you kill your companions in Persona Q? Freaking story obligations getting in my way.

Oh, Reezy, you're in a for surprise when you meet him in this game. I finally managed to kill him yesterday, when I gave Shinji the Persona Astarus, so he could use Panic Circle to keep the Reaper's attacks at bay. You'll be like John Hardin here.

Yes, I'm putting you in charge of making sure to keep this thread updated with links of any news that come out of it. I might be at work on that day, so I'm counting on you and anyone else in this thread to do it should I end up being too preoccupied.

Ofcourse.

The game is otherwise too much of a grindfest for me.

It's no different with the presence of the Golden Hands.

I'll see how the work load I got from the classes I take and how easy it would be to skip.

The least amount of time I need for leveling, the beter. Normal doesnt give as much as Easy.

I don't think there's a difference; Admittedly, however, I've never played it on Easy, but there is literally no real grinding to do with the presence of the Golden Hands on any difficulty.

Well, I hope you'll be able to make it. It's most likely gonna take place during the evening (our time) so if you can't then we'll have to count on the rest who live on in the States to keep everyone up to date.

Use the links I've already posted. I'll post some more, as we get closer to February; there'll most likely be links for streams that will show the whole Atlus thing, otherwise Google is always good.

Yes. It's definitely up there with Digital Devil Saga in that department.

Yeah Q and DDS while not as hard as mainline SMT and Devil Survivor 1/2, are still dam difficult and just as cheap(nothing beats dem charm spam encounters and seeing your party kill eachother after having a tough encounter before)

So I did give the written piece a look, all 5,205 words. Some of it (particularly the beginning) I recall from the days I lurked here, mainly the irregular flow of time.

Some of the thematic pieces were new to me, like the character arcs leaning either towards death itself or loss in general; Dots I should've connected but didn't. Finished the game all of once, it's likely something people wouldn't catch on the first trip. The Director's brief commentary helps a great deal. When delving into heavily Subjective territory, it makes a significant difference to those leery on anything that's widely up to interpretation.

Hah, you counted them all, eh? Well I'm glad it could be of some use to people.

Is it just or did I recall a mention of KOTOR 2 in your post? Did you edit or is really just me? I think the mention deserves notice because it seems rather apt for this whole thing. I think there are certainly a lot of aspects in KOTOR 2's own deconstruction on a formula. I should probably also add some clarification to why I mentioned Metal Gear Solid 2 as well.

In a lot of ways, Hideo Kojima introduces post-modernity to gaming through his own renovation of the spy-genre with Sons of Liberty, and how we usually perceive a  game, when we play it; In fact, it already started in Metal Gear Solid 1 with Psycho Mantis breaking the 4th wall (nobody had really seen anything like it at the time). The idea that you could broaden the horizon of the game itself to go beyond the three walls of the TV and enter your room as well. It's obviously not meant to be have been taken into a literal context, but conceptually, the game truly frames itself beyond the metaphorical walls that separates fiction from reality (one of the major aspect of the post-modern genre). Persona 3 & Sons of Liberty did a lot of these things, and noticeably, they also adhere to similar patterns in terms of the overall thematic content, such as leaving a legacy behind. Wanting to be remembered is shared among them.

People that are fighting against their pre-determined fate to find their own etc.

I should write some stuff about that game too in the future. I've read a lot of other people's thoughts but never really wrote my own on it. Maybe something more on Persona 4 as well whenever Sim finishes that game.

Yes, there's still no real news about this game yet.. It's been a while since it was announced, imagine there might be more near the release of Persona 5.

The point is that this occurrence is new. Hopefully, it means that the game is still on the table.

Damn, it would suck for a game like that to get cancelled.

We can't really count on anything outside of news from either Atlus or Nintendo. But yeah, I'm liking Fire Emblem and while I'm not the fondest of the main line SMT, I do like Devil Saga, so I'd say this is a promising mix-up akin to that of Etrian Odyssey and Persona.

Oh, I get where you're coming from, but this isn't the only time that I've seen a game appear on Amazon or Bestbuy long before it's release date, and then turn out to be in development. Hopefully, this just means that this particular game is still in development.

I didn't say it wasn't -- In fact, I'd say it's fair to say it is because Atlus rarely cancels the production of their games. The only time they've cancelled something was in regards to Persona 2 Eternal Punishment PSP port being shipped to the west.

There's enough demand for Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei now for me to doubt it won't come.

That game's never coming out. But if it did I'd PROBABLY have to cop a Wii U as I freaking love SMT & Fire Emblem. I don't even know who's making the game now that I think about it. Is it a joint effort or is it one of those Street Fighter X Tekken deal  where characters from the second title are flavored by the first one. I can see Shin Megami Tensei characters being thrown into the world of a tactical RPG but I can't see Fire Emblem characters fitting into the demon collecting, world shaping RPG that is Shin Megami Tensei
