Rise's texts in Golden are a reason why I could never choose her.

Her overall development isn't very interesting to me, because it's a repeat of the same nonsense she overcame a few minutes beforehand. Let it be known though that I like all the characters, really. Persona 4 is the rare exception where there isn't a single character I really don't like with the exception of Marie (but she was added later so I don't see much reason to care either way).

I've since invalidated any opinions of the Japanese fans 'favorite thing' because they dare put Yosuke so high on the Top 20 characters lust and not even including Junpei, plus Minako is too low, which automatically means their arguments are invalid because reasons.

I really like Rise and her attitude and generally positive aura that she send out. Her development as a character is subpar and compared to most of the others in P4 it's a bit disappointing. Still even with that she's kinda great

I can understand that. Her social link isn't my favorite either.

A few things about Rise just don't gel that well with me from the whole obnoxious "SENPAI " thing to her constant putdowns of Kanji. I found her most interesting and engaging as a character before she got shoved into the TV and right after saving her.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Dojima was the original murderer? I read that Atlus changed the killer relatively late in the process. Any trooof to this or is it all fan speculation? 

 

I'm just interested it in all because of the thought of how good ol' Cabbage Patch would have factored into matters. Would they have been murdered? How would their arc have gone?

The thing is though that these traits, like the adoration for Narukami in regards to Rise are just a small part of their character (unless you're the insufferable bellend who wrote the characters in Q). Yukiko has her laughing fits and occasional oblivious moments, whereas Chie is a fan of meat and tend to open her mouth a lot, Yosuke is caring and responsible but sometimes his teasing against Kanji crosses the line, Kanji is a young man with a heart of gold and occasionally dense, but on many points he's the most straightforward and level headed character of them all, Naoto has an irrational fear of spooky stuff etc.

They all have these small endearing traits besides their overall depth which is part of what makes them so great. Rise is actually quite caring and worried whenever she's not trying to casually hit on Kenpachi Ramasama Kings-Game-Narukami-kun. Her social link is just not very good and doesn't hold up to her characterization at all.
