I feel like this game is going to deconstruct some of the stuff previous game do.
It's a different kind of journey, certainly.

One will notice that he's a completely different character in the first teaser and in some of those clips with the blonde girl.. Then we see some footage from class, where's being scolded by the teacher for not paying attention, this showcases how he's getting tired of the shallow routine of which he is trapped "chained" if you will. The contract with Igor will likely set him on the journey that changes him. Facing his Shadow will most likely help him awaken to a different side of himself.
Maybe he does this whole vigilante facade? Like with how Bruce Wayne is just a mask for Batman.
However what you said makes alot of sense as well.
I'm loving the Jazzy tunes as well.. here's hoping for at least the same amount of party members as 4.
The same amount would be great, it was just the "right" amount

No heroes of justice this time.

Well, I think you might have a point too, vigilante justice can certainly also apply to the ordeal of wanting to change things, change the norm and feel like you're making a difference. Of course, I'm still trying to piece together how it's connected to Shadows, which is obviously going to be the most important part. The dungeon crawling seems interesting, but I need to see more to get a stronger opinion on it.

Well there has been speculation that Atlus is going back to demons. Maybe no shadows this time?
Though I guess the game loses the whole Persona point then.
Although, the thing is that the "mask" is more or less a literal analogy to Jungian psychology, where people would put on masks so that they may face all of the many facets of the world.. They put on masks to transform (to change) but also to (shield themselves) from the world, because people are generally afraid of what the world might think of them.. Perhaps these characters think the opposite.

The gif from the last page is presumably the protagonist's shadow.
It also wouldn't make sense going back to demons since Persona isn't Shin Megami Tensei, it's Persona, so without a Shadow you can't have a Persona.
Of course the stellar trademark of modern Persona games are the social links, which I hope are still present in some form.
I would be incredibly shocked if they weren't.
I sure hope so! Come to love that mechanic a great deal

I wonder what this "Cooperation" is.
Another name for tactics maybe?
Another name for tactics maybe?
I think that solves it then.
No social links have been activated yet. Hence why the menu option hasn't appeared.
I hope you're all beary bearpared for the cat puns nyaow.

I will set the cat on fire if that happens.
Teddie, get off Chris's account. You're not supposed to be online right now.

Well, the squad in the trailer was attacking Sandman and Pyro Jack. Unless they're fighting other Persona users that summon the typical Personas (demons) as well those might be demons.

But you also have the Shadow transforming at the end of the trailer -- It can't be the protagonist since he's wearing a different mask and the colour of the eyes matches that of a Shadow.. Obviously you also have the factors of the Jungian stuff that Persona & Shadow are one and the same, so not having Shadows would mean no Personas.. Plus Persona has distanced itself from Shin Megami Tensei. That's just my verdict though, not anything factual ofc.
Let's just hope the other characters won't rub that *****.. too much. It would be quite CAT-astrophic.
Another name for tactics maybe?
But why would tactics be in the pause menu? It's only been depicted in the combat menu in previous games (3 & 4, that is) Perhaps Cooperation is another word for social links now? Hmm..

I'm not saying the aspect of the Shadow is absent because Persona has definitely incorporated Jungian psychology. I'm just saying Shin Megami Tensei demons might be a separate thing within all the established aspects of these games. They aren't mutually exclusive concepts. Didn't Persona 2 have demons already anyway?
What if - and this is a big if - social links will play a more important role this time during the story. What if the cooperation has something to do with these heists that has been speculated about?
As in, the higher the Cooperation level you got with people, the beter the mission will succeed? And in the end will count towards what ending you'll get.

That is true. However I also consider that to be dumb so adding it to the pause menu while letting you change mid battle too is fine by me.
